As part of its holiday celebrations this year, Electronic Arts is allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate / EA Play users to grab a selection of free content to keep forever - and the promotion's third full Xbox title is now available to claim.
Following on from Battlefield 1 and Battlefront 2, Xbox players can now claim Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Deluxe Edition entirely for free. As we mentioned before, you'll have to be subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play for this, but as long as you are, the game's deluxe edition should be showing up as totally free to claim.

These '100% off' deals are available for one day only, so, it's probably worth booting up your console at some point today and adding this one to your library. You get the game's bonus 'Deluxe Upgrade' DLC included as well, which is a nice addition!
This title shouldn't be EA's last free game offer for the holiday season, either. When this promo was first announced, Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition was listed in the publisher's free offerings - so be on the look out for one between now and December 26th.

Good game multiplayer mayhem loads of fun I'll definitely be downloading it to keep!
I really like this. Makes it feel like a holiday treat to be surprised to GPU (and certainly if anyone is subscribed to EA play standalone which is like $5). Would be fantastic if Xbox Game Pass itself did something similar and gave some surprised epic perks for the holiday season. It's far from necessary, but rewarding loyal subscribers who are constantly logging on and engaging with a service goes a long way. Plus this method really rewards people for staying on top of a service or storefront. It's rather easy to miss these limited time gifts. For example, I knew and know the Epic Games store on PC is giving away free games for the holiday season, but I don't really use the launcher on PC and often forget I even have it downloaded. Today is the first day I checked and got something and they've been doing it apparently since December 12th. It seems small, but an incentive to turn on your Xbox/Open your Mobile or PC app EVERYDAY and claim the daily perk, goes a long way in encouraging more engagement with the platform and brand.
My son's actually started playing this recently so a few freebies for it won't hurt.
I didn’t realize these games were only a one day thing. I said I’d claim Battlefront on XBOX when I got back to my place tonight, guess that isn’t happening. The deals don’t show up on mobile for me
Showing as £2.99 for me 😔
@electrolite77 make sure it's the deluxe edition and you have game pass or EA Play!
@Altaria_97 Showed up just fine on mobile web browser for me, claimed this and Battlefront both on Xbox.com.
@WildConcept6 Totally agree it's like an advent calendar for adults. Between this and Epic will add quite a few games to the library. Epic in particular usually add some pretty decent games, a couple of years ago on Christmas Day it was Death Stranding, which was relatively new-ish at the time
@Kezelpaso @dskatter
I had to play Where’s Waldo finding the Deluxe edition but I did find it and claimed it for free! Thanks both of you and happy holidays!
@Altaria_97 Vice versa, be safe and be merry!
Battlefront 2 was not free for me and I am a UGP member. The only thing that was free for me so far was Battlefield 1 and some stuff for Sims 4. Is it different for each person?
There's a list online of all the games and days they're giving stuff away.. it'll be daily for the next few days.
@Tasuki they're only available for 24 hours, they're mixing it each day.
this game was fun back in the early days of the xbox one. i got it on pc a couple months ago when it went on sale , and it was practically dead
@Kilamanjaro I have been checking everyday. Just got Battlefield 1, Sims stuff and now Plant vs Zombies.
The game isn't launching for me for some reason for me on series x oh well what can you do🤷
@electrolite77
Yeah £2.99 for me and I have GPU.
Perhaps it’s a USA thing. But being Xbox console second most popular country you we think we would get it for free.
@OldGamer999 UK? I am in UK & was able to grab it for free. Make sure you are looking at the deluxe edition maybe? The base game on its own has a cost but its the deluxe edition that was free or at least that is what i saw on the xbox store
Even tho it’s on gamepass giving my battlefront 2 for free has me back playing it been a lot of fun. I will echo everything you’ve ever read about titanfall 2’s campaign and say it is very good
@OldGamer999 It is or was free. Search for it.
@RiverGenie
That was the issue, thanks.
@OldGamer999
I was looking at the wrong version. The free one is the Deluxe version

@electrolite77
Thank you.
I ended up downloading the normal version in the end.
I’m spending to much time on Indy.
