Two Xbox Games Are Set To Close Their Servers Before The End Of 2024

The Xbox server closures are almost over for another year! Following a slate of Battlefield departures in November, along with various other closures earlier in 2024 (The Crew being a notable one), we've just got two to go in December.

And actually, it might not be two. Friday The 13th: The Game was announced ages ago to be getting delisted in December 2023, but the servers were confirmed to remain live until at least December 31st, 2024. That means the server closure could end up getting delayed to next year, but you should probably prepare for it being next month.

The other one is an old NBA title - specifically NBA 2K23. Both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions are closing their servers on December 31st, and you'll actually see a warning about this in-game right now.

Beyond this, don't forget we've got 12 SEGA games being delisted on Xbox in December as well. This was announced last week, and it includes the likes of Crazy Taxi, NIGHTS into Dreams and the SEGA Genesis Classics collection.

As we move into 2025, golf fans should take note that EA Sports' Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will also be shutting its servers on January 16th, although considering it's been almost 10 years since its launch, that seems pretty reasonable!
