Stalker 2 is dropping on Xbox Game Pass today, and ahead of launch, we've been playing around with both Xbox versions of the title to see how they perform. Xbox Series X and S have slightly different setups for Stalker 2 - with Series X having two graphical modes to choose from, as opposed to just the one mode on Series S.
So, we've compared both Xbox Series X modes, alongside the Xbox Series S version, in the video up above. The Series X performance mode aims for up to 60FPS gameplay, with the other two modes across both consoles capped at 30FPS.
Generally speaking, Stalker 2's frame rate does jump around a fair bit — particularly in the 60FPS mode — and this is one of those titles where VRR is very important. If you have this feature on your TV or monitor, you'll want to make sure it's enabled for Stalker 2!
Finally, it's worth noting that since we captured the majority of this footage, developer GSC Game World has pushed out another pre-launch patch for Stalker 2. We've tested this latest version out, and performance remains very similar to our earlier pre-release code.
How are you feeling about Stalker 2's Xbox performance? Tell us your thoughts down below.

Looks good on series s but any idea of the internal resolution output?
Thanks for this video.
@bowzoid You're welcome!
Think I'll wait for DFs definitive breakdown of PC/XBOX Series consoles. My PC will punch holes in pretty much any game, but broken games are broken and brute forcing them with a powerful rig isn't the answer.
