Right at the start of the year, Palworld exploded in popularity on Xbox Game Pass - and ever since then developer Pocketpair has been expanding on its Pokémon-like adventure. Well, going off the team's latest announcement, it sounds like Palworld's December update could be the biggest one yet.
Posting out to its social channels today, Pocketpair has announced that the game's December update will contain a new island "about six times" larger than the Sakurajima map - which was added in a previous update. Palworld's fresh play space will be "the largest, harshest, and most mysterious new island" in the game so far.
"The new mysterious island is the largest and harshest in Palworld's history. The island is about six times the size of Sakurajima, which was added in the last major update! Powerful tower bosses and many vicious new species of Pals lurk here. A large amount of new content will also be added."
More recently, we've been covering news on Pocketpair's lawsuit with Nintendo; as the Pokémon owner took issue with some of Palworld's systems back in September. It's nice to get back to some actual Palworld content now though - this December update looks a big one!
Of course, Palworld is still on Xbox Game Pass at the time of writing, even if the developer once considered switching to a completely free-to-play model for its open-world adventure. Pocketpair eventually deemed that path unviable though, saying that it would "require too much work to adapt the game at this point".
