As usual, the team at Digital Foundry has taken a look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 across every console platform that it's available on - and there's some interesting results here on the Xbox machines, especially last-gen.
As you can see in the comparison video up above, the outlet has tested Xbox Series X|S and both Xbox One and Xbox One X to see how the latest Call of Duty title performs. Generally speaking, the experience is solid on both current-gen Xbox consoles (save for some frame rate drops and hitching here and there), with 60 and 120FPS options available on both systems.
With the scalability of Call of Duty's engine, it's perhaps no surprise to see good options on Xbox Series X and S, but it's actually the Xbox One comparisons that are most interesting here - even just out of sheer curiosity. DF notes that it's a much worse experience on either version of Xbox One compared to current-gen (PS4 Pro is the smoothest last-gen version), but to be honest, we agree that it's almost a miracle the game performs this well on dated 2013 technology.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 6! Runs well on Series X, a touch smoother on PS5, while Series S sits in a tier beneath. We also tested on all last-gen consoles - it runs, it's kinda miraculous it works at all, but ultimately we can't recommend it."
Even on Xbox One this game still very much looks like Black Ops 6, which is quite an achievement given some of the other last-gen ports we've seen over the years. Anyway, the video up above is well worth a watch if you're as curious about all of this as we are - and the bottom line is that Black Ops 6 runs well on pretty much any console as long as you keep your expectations in check.

It is a pretty looking game I'm sure the way they stream textures helps a lot very good overall on series s for me
“ Call of Duty: Black Ops 6! Runs well on Series X, a touch smoother on PS5“
You have to smile at Microsoft.
Will be interesting if they PS5 Pro enhance it as well.
All Thomas Morgan's videos tend to favour PS. The PS5 version has almost the same frame rate drops. He almost rules the Xbox One X version out! I haven't found any issues on Series X in 120fps mode, although I use VRR as well. The Xbox One version is decent enough looking at the video, although not ideal. He also gives too much importance to the checkpoint saving interruptions.
I'm playing on Series X and the only issue I see is when I'm in the lobby and the Operators are walking around it hiccups a bit. During matches it's been super smooth for me, which is what really matters.
Great, we get the inferior version of our own game
My only guess is they’re playing it safe in case any government agencies are snooping around, in view of Playstation’s lame ‘they’ll gimp our console versions if the deal goes through’ objection. Microsoft probably rationalizes ‘Make the Xbox versions just inferior enough that a tech analysis will show it but John Q. Public won’t notice, and we’ll dodge any potential bullet.’ Still not a good look for the brand.
Thank you Microsoft you are stars.
Black ops 6 confirmed PS5 Pro enhanced.
@Banjo-
He doesnt really, its just that the results and his analysis doesnt fit your preferred outcome.
@mac_da_man Your conclusion is childish and wrong. I have been watching DF's videos for many years, and I know exactly what I'm saying. Your prejudices are also wrong, because I got a PS4 before an Xbox One when I noticed that most Xbox One games were 900p. I also used to compare Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3 games back in the day. So, doubly wrong. Or thrice, because the outcome is not bad for Series X, performance is almost the same as PS5 and he does not even analyse the resolution -dynamic in this case- like the other DF members, Series X being the platform on which I'm playing it. I guess it's just so easy for you to say nonsense like that about other users for no reason, instead of saying something, you know, meaningful.
No surprise it runs slightly better on the PS5 bc the common denominator is PS5 is leading consoles in the home so the Series X is the ported version
@Banjo- he does just tend to... he is a lying clown.
