Just under a year ago, the developer "Aerosoft" released a game called Truck and Logistics Simulator on Xbox, and we've been seeing it on the UK charts ever since. This is a game that keeps finding its way back in the top paid titles.
Now, seemingly out of nowhere, they've released another one - it's called Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator. Despite only releasing five days ago, it's already 14th in the UK charts for paid releases, which means it's seemingly selling better than the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the new LEGO Harry Potter Collection remaster.
Whether it's worth your hard-earned money is another question though. Looking at the Xbox reviews, Heavy Cargo - The Truck Simulator has a user score of 3.6/5, while its rating on Steam is "Mixed". Last year's Truck and Logistics Simulator actually fares better on the whole, and it's also discounted slightly right now (by 25%).
Here's a positive and negative review from Steam about Heavy Cargo - the Truck Simulator:
Computerman: "Ultimately, if you want a complete truck driving experience, this probably isn't the game for you, because that's not what it is. Nonetheless, if you're willing to wade through a little typical jankiness (I don't mind the camera minigame, but the guardrail one isn't for me), this game does something really appreciable. As a heavy haulage enthusiast, I am satisfied with the experience and hope the developers can continue to grow it."
Aberidius: "The general game concept is cool, but this has some poor execution. Besides the limited options of truck (aka no trucks at all) the game feels unpolished. Besides having aspects that are really fun, the bugs are too irritating to recommend."
