With Activision now part of the Xbox family, there have been talks about all sorts of game franchises coming together and collaborating. We've already seen this with certain games, but one crossover we're yet to see is Call of Duty X Halo.
According to the latest rumour, there was a point in time when it was on the cards. According to Call of Duty leaker 'TheGhostOfHope', Modern Warfare 3 had plans for a Halo crossover, but it was axed for "unknown reasons".
Call of Duty news site 'CharlieIntel' corroborated this information - mentioning how it was originally planned for "earlier this year" in 2024 before being cancelled. For now, it's probably best to treat this as nothing more than rumour.
This collaboration was expected to be pretty standard - with Master Chief entering the battlefield in the form of an Operator Skin. There's now a theory that Activision and Microsoft could potentially be saving Master Chief for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which arrives on Xbox Game Pass later this month.
This latest rumour follows on from some claims that Halo Infinite's battle royale was supposedly a "game changer" before it was axed. The newly-named Halo Studios is now embarking on a "new dawn" for the franchise moving forward.
