One of the biggest surprises at the Xbox Partner Showcase today has been Cronos: A New Dawn - a fresh horror experience from the team that just delivered Silent Hill 2. While Konami's remake isn't on Xbox yet, Cronos: The New Dawn will be available on the platform day one.
Marrying "Eastern European brutalism" with "retro-futurist technology", Cronos looks a real treat for the eyes and ears on Xbox. It's Bloober Team at the helm, so you can expect some mind-bending horror here, although the switch to third-person is a little different from their past Xbox efforts.
Here's a quick introduction to the title:
"Cronos: The New Dawn is a pulse-pounding, third-person survival horror game that throws you into the heart of a deadly struggle against overwhelming foes, all while uncovering the mysteries of a twisted time travel story.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking."
This one looks and sounds pretty fantastic so far, and we can't wait to see more of it already. Cronos: The New Dawn is aiming for a 2025 release - beyond that we're left in the dark, for now.
Was this the surprise of the show? Tell us if you think so down below.

This sort of game is totally my bag.
This one has my interest piqued.
Looks solid for sure.
Looking forward to this can't wait
@Utena-mobile I am already looking forward to the inevitable Xbox version of Silent Hill 2, but if you say so as a Silent Hill expert, I'm relieved to know that it turned out well. I'm not a fan of Bloober's original games, I find them nonsensical so far, but I'll keep an eye on "Cronos".
@OLD64FOREVER Nice profile picture.
@Utena-mobile This remake is selling more than expected on PC and PS5, so perhaps more are coming? 😊
@Banjo- thanks Starfox adventures is one of my favourite games of all time but I wish rare/Nintendo left the game on the N64.
@OLD64FOREVER Yeah, it was changed significantly. The funny thing is that without the Star Fox IP, it would not be a Nintendo game now and would have been included in Rare Replay.
True Nintendo should do a remaster let nightdive studios make it release it on all consoles I buy it day one for my series X a month ago I played though Starfox adventures on my GameCube the graphics holds up pretty good
