Yep, after a decade of waiting, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is almost here - BioWare's latest epic is coming to Xbox Series X|S on October 31st. As expected then, the team has just dropped the game's final launch trailer ahead of next week's release, and it's getting us well and truly hyped for the full thing.
We've thrown that pre-launch trailer up above for you to all enjoy - with the team's upcoming RPG looking and sounding pretty bloody good so far. Here's how EA and BioWare are setting up the next instalment in this now age-old franchise:
"Ancient tyrants wielding the might of gods have escaped their prison, and that is only the beginning. Demons, darkspawn, blighted dragons, and perilous choices lie ahead. Unite the Veilguard and defy the gods."
In recent weeks, we've had some interesting tidbits of information come out about the game - including details of an Xbox Series S performance mode, info on all six difficulty levels, and the game's overall file size on Xbox Series X|S. This is all worth knowing before deciding if The Veilguard is worth picking up and downloading!
We're also hoping to have a full review out for the title next week here at Pure Xbox - so be on the look out for that! In the meantime, we'll drop our summer preview down below - our video producer Craig came away very impressed, and we're hoping that carries over into the full release.
Hyped for The Veilguard? Tell us down below if you'll be playing it next week!

Hopefully it's good bio ware haven't made a good game in year's!
Hello fellow modern audience…wait where are you?
@VoidPunk I'm right here!
I haven't been excited for a Dragon Age game since Origins. I'm not gonna grab it at launch, because I don't pay full price for major releases when I can avoid it. But I am very much looking forward to playing this one.
I wanna play this one but I'll wait for a sale or the inevitable EA Play addition.
I'll play Inquisition again in the meantime.
The character heads are still disproportionally big for their bodies and it looks ridiculous 🤣
I have it preordered. I’m going to have a hard time getting past how egregiously ugly the companion character designs are but the game looks fun
This could score 10/10 across the board and I wouldn’t touch it. Hard pass for me.
Been looking forward to this since Trespasser and I can't Freaking Wait 😁
@Lrapsody Someone pointed that out and now I can't unsee that it has NBA Jam's Big Head Mode without an off switch.
Aside from the ridiculous protagonist nickname ‘Rook’ I am Reaaaally looking forward to DA4. Even if the series never really hit the levels of Mass Effect, I still enjoyed every title. Yes even DA2! Screw the haters I liked it. I hope this plays as well as it looks in the trailers.
Removed - unconstructive
@Ricky-Spanish most of the BioWare devs have left. What we have now is a shell
The monkey's paw curled giving us a Dragon Age game with good gameplay... at the cost of everything else.
@KillerBoy This. The people that made all these companies amazing are long gone, either leaving for creative differences or fired in favor of cheaper, less experienced devs. It's why I don't feel one way or the other when they shut down or announce layoffs - they're not the people who made the games I loved, and they weren't good enough to continue the legacy.
I have this preordered so let's see but I am worried this could go either way. Be really good or ridiculously bad and there won't be a happy medium.
