Today marks a massive milestone for Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as Patch 7 is officially rolling out on the two consoles - and that means we're getting mods on console for the first time!
Yes, the in-game mod manager has been implemented in the Xbox version as of today, allowing you to download various tools to customise your game. The difference between console and PC is that only certain mods will be available on console, and they'll be released in batches over time. Here's a bit more about this:

"There are currently, uh, 69 mods that have passed internal testing [on console], and we’ll be adding more as we go. Making mods available on platforms other than PC will be a continuously reviewed process that may change to include additional functionality in the future. Mods ready for both Mac and console that have passed testing will be released in batches, so keep an eye out on your in-game mod browser to see when new mods are added."
Beyond mods, Patch 7 also adds new evil ending cinematics, revamped split-screen gameplay, Honour Mode improvements and a whole lot more. The patch notes are huge, so instead of including them all below, we'll direct you over to the Baldur's Gate 3 website to check them out. Hotfix 26 and 27 have been released today as well.
We don't know about you, but we can't wait to check out these new mods in Baldur's Gate 3 and see how we can enhance our game further... obviously the selection isn't as exhaustive as on PC, but we'll take what we can get!

I am still waiting for cross platform play that was promised to us so I can play with my boys on PC.....
I'm really looking forward to messing around with the mods just like I have in Starfield.
@HeavyHoggJP Same here. My brother and I want to play co-op. He owns it on PS5 but paying for the PS+ sub on top of the game is just too high of an asking price for me. Especially because we don’t even know if we’ll like the game.
I’m waiting to get it once I can get it on Xbox with cross-play. The devs seem great and I’m glad they’re working on it.
Awesome News!
I rather have Mods and trainers than achievements any time.
Xbox should come up an option in which it should ask the player what would you rather have at the beginning of every game Trainers/Mods or Achievements.
I literally finished my fourth complete run of BG3 just yesterday. That's 3 Taction runs now, and I think I'm finally ready to attempt an Honour run. I've got 3 super strong builds that I can utilise, and just need to come up with a 4th. You'd think after 1300 hours encompassing 4 playthroughs, that I'd have 4 builds ready to go, but Honour mode demands that you get it right, so I'm left still wondering what to go with.
I wonder whether mods will disable achievements, as they do in Skyrim and Fallout, for example...? If a mod can make Honour mode easier, I hope that achievements are disabled because that achievement is meant to be difficult, and the playing field needs to level for everyone...
Do you happen to know whether mods will disable achievements, @FraserG?
@Fiendish-Beaver as a true non-expert in this kind of games (BG3 was a first for me), I managed to do an Honour mode run after 2 easier ones. So you got this.
Remember, you can crash the game whenever you want and reload your save. And use Withers to get your friends back (also, pickpocket him to get your money back).
The main difficulty I had (which almost made me quit) was the boss at the end of act 2. I clearly wasn't prepared for it, I was underleveled because I basically only did the main quest. Wrong idea. So I was stuck in this fight for 3 whole days, with no way of going back. But I finally beat it. And act 3 was ok.
Unfortunately I never got the achievement, even if my save clearly says "Honour mode". I've been waiting for 5 months for Larian to deal with my request.
Great experience. Hard, for sure. But awesome.
I didn'y see it, so I asume its not there, but is there any way to remove content unsuitable for children?
Did they fix the audio delays yet? I played 150 hours with people screaming after they had died a second prior.
@VoidPunk I’m not sure it’s a suitable game for children. You’d have to remove the whole thing, or replace violence with popping balloons.
Here come the nude mods... oh wait.
Thanks, @RamiBalek, and congratulations on completing your Honour Mode run. I do have the Honour Mode achievement for Divinity Original Sin 2, and it is still my proudest achievement. I remember the tense moments in that game, and the sense of accomplishment when you finally succeed, so I am really looking forward to experiencing that again in BG3.
Personally, I like to do everything I can in the game, so being under-levelled is probably not going to be an issue. I just need to work out what are the unnecessarily difficult parts of the game that I don't need to undertake. As an example, I think Astarion's final battle with Cazador is one of the most difficult in the game, but having Astarion become ascendent is really useful. It's weighing up those things, and planning my route through the game. Another thing I'm not sure about is whether attempting to obtain Nyrulna by entering the Jungle in Act 3 is doable on Honour Mode. It's the risk / reward that has me enjoying the planning process...
Please put Baldur's Gate 3 in the Japan store.
They are blocking the store even though it is in Japanese.
It mainly seems to be hairstyles, dice colours and eye colours. I noticed that the most popular mods people were looking for seemed to be ‘explicit content’…
@Fiendish-Beaver You're psyching yourself out, honor mode really isn't that hard
