Last week's Xbox Partner Preview event gave us the release date for the Alan Wake 2 Lake House expansion, and today, Remedy has announced that all players will get access to the Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update on the very same day.
Also landing on October 22nd alongside Lake House, Alan Wake 2's free one-year update gathers a bunch of community requests submitted over the last 12 months and adds them in one neat patch. We should have more detail on all of this at launch, but for now, here are the new options coming with the Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update:
- Quick turn
- Auto complete QTE
- Button tapping to single tap
- Weapon charging with taps
- Healing items with taps
- Lightshifter with taps
- Player invulnerability
- Player immortality
- One shot kill
- Infinite ammo
- Infinite flashlight batteries
These will all be toggle options found in Alan Wake 2's Gameplay Assist menu, giving folks plenty of choices if any of these mechanics were a bit of a blocker with the base Alan Wake 2 experience. The team says that PS5 players will also get DualSense improvements, and "other" additions will be tucked into the update on all platforms.
For a closer look at the Lake House expansion itself, do check out the link down below, and you can expect both that and the free Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update to land on October 22nd for Xbox Series X and S.
Will any of these new accessibility options bring you back to AW2? Tell us your thoughts down below.

Sounds decent if them toggles don't effect the achievements then I'm onto a flyer with this I'll complete the harder difficulties with pleasure then!
Alan wake great!! Alan wake 2 great graphics rest game awful
I have to love Xbox free upgrades and Smart Delivery. It was not mandatory for third parties, but most have done it! Some of them twice, on Xbox One X and Series S|X. Amazing. Thank you.
Love that they will include Player Immortality. Playing a game like Control with that feature, with an immortal Jesse Faden, is cool and relaxing as hell!
Can't wait for the Lake House DLC!
I can't wait to pick up my physical copy of Alan Wake 2 tomorrow.
Missed opportunity, should have included these as unlockable cheats!
@Medic_alert invulnerable is where you will take no damage at all
immortality is where it prevents you from dying but in certain sections it won’t prevent that from happening
