Alan Wake 2 Is Getting A Free 'Anniversary Update' On Xbox Series X And S

Last week's Xbox Partner Preview event gave us the release date for the Alan Wake 2 Lake House expansion, and today, Remedy has announced that all players will get access to the Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update on the very same day.

Also landing on October 22nd alongside Lake House, Alan Wake 2's free one-year update gathers a bunch of community requests submitted over the last 12 months and adds them in one neat patch. We should have more detail on all of this at launch, but for now, here are the new options coming with the Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update:

  • Quick turn
  • Auto complete QTE
  • Button tapping to single tap
  • Weapon charging with taps
  • Healing items with taps
  • Lightshifter with taps
  • Player invulnerability
  • Player immortality
  • One shot kill
  • Infinite ammo
  • Infinite flashlight batteries

These will all be toggle options found in Alan Wake 2's Gameplay Assist menu, giving folks plenty of choices if any of these mechanics were a bit of a blocker with the base Alan Wake 2 experience. The team says that PS5 players will also get DualSense improvements, and "other" additions will be tucked into the update on all platforms.

For a closer look at the Lake House expansion itself, do check out the link down below, and you can expect both that and the free Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update to land on October 22nd for Xbox Series X and S.
