Yesterday, we covered a new report about Microsoft working to bring a couple of Transformers games to market in 2024, and now we have further evidence that suggests this is actually happening.
As shared by Klobrille on social media, Microsoft seemingly submitted two Transformers games to be rated in Australia last month - on August 22nd to be exact. Aside from being labelled 'Transformers' by 'Microsoft Studios', we have no further information on what these games are or what they're called more specifically.
However, just as we mentioned in our report coverage, something backwards compatibility-related seems the most plausible here - as Klobrille also suggests. We've heard nothing about a brand-new series entry from Xbox or Activision coming soon, and considering two games have been submitted at the same time (potentially for a 2024 launch), some sort of re-release makes the most sense.
Anyway, we'll keep an eye on this one, but now that evidence of actual MS ratings has cropped up, we're starting to think this may very well happen. Hold onto your hats, Transformers fans, you might be getting a little treat from Xbox in the very near future.
Would you be up for replaying some of these old Transformers games on Xbox? Tell us what you think down below.

Please be true!
Even if it's just making WFC & FoC backwards, without relisting them or bringing the servers back, it's a start and shows they intend to not just sit on all these games. I can see them slowly making the licensed games backwards while working on full-on remasters/collections for current consoles as a warm up for getting more interest.
If I was MS, I'd be trying to secure as many of Activision's licensed games as possible. Getting Disney to sign off on marvel Ultimate Alliances and Simpsons Hit and Run would be massive.
Pertically if (for now at least) the only place to get the delisted games was Xbox/Gamepass.
Grimlock looking hard as nails and no f**ks given, as always👍🏻👍🏻
Please, make War and Fall backwards compatible. I have these on 360 still, but it’d be amazing to be able to play them in Series X/S instead.
Are they good games?
I would happily replay some of the older games.
@Ricky-Spanish If you're not a fan of Transformers, they're still solid Third-Person Shooters. But even being a casual fan boosts it a lot. War for Cybertron is far less enjoyable now without 3 player co-op, but Fall of Cybertron's Campaign holds up just as well as it did then since it's only Single Player.
@shoeses Thanks for the info 👍
Oh my gosh, the high moon studios Transformers games were SO GOOD!
I've been waiting for this since Hasbro mentioned their interest in bringing these games back! After Activision clarified that they had the code, I knew it was only a matter of time!
I could also see Hasbro being super cooperative with getting the Activision games back on peoples' radars and in their game libraries ASAP considering they started making very well done toys of the games and the movies with tie-in games. It'd be beneficial for Hasbro, Microsoft, gamers, and the IP itself alike, which could lead to full on remakes/remasters with servers again, along with similar revivals for the Marvel games.
I still have PTSD from Trypticon.
A friend and I were doing it on the hardest difficulty level and got ot that final boss. And if we weren't getting Game Over's our third kept disconnecting, which reset you.
Took us so long we took multiple breaks. Ultimately we beat him though and IMO, the most difficult achievement I have to date.
It would be great if these were War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, especially if they came with full multiplayer suites ... but I worry it will just be the single-player campaigns.
Between this and MvC Collection for Xbox getting announced, I am losing my mind today
@TheUnrestCure the multiplayer in these was absolutely so much fun. I won't get my hopes up for mp servers, but....
@WEB_78O I'd even be willing to tolerate season passes and additional paid dlc cosmetics just to get the multiplayer back. Sadly even if the games come back they are just a bit too niche to draw much interest, I fear.
This, if all this smoke leads to fire, is EXACTLY what I was hoping but would never expect them to do. For those unaware, Activision was a HUGE licensed game developer in the late 00s and 10s. Some of the games weren't great, some were fantastic, and some were average. But there was SO much. And even with the mixed average, the output doesn't deserve to rot and be forgotten.
Deadpool, Ninja Turtles, Spider-Man, Marvel itself. Before Activision was the CoD machine, it was putting out tons of comic-book games.
@Kezelpaso You went with "Hold onto your hats, Transformers fans" and not "Hold on to your bots"?? Shame.
@InterceptorAlpha Only Boss I had trouble with on Hard was Soundwave weirdly enough. Since it's such a cramped arena if one of you gets downed it snowballs quickly, so I ended up doing it and only it solo. The Trypticon fight has a good few factors that can make it very easy, like knowing you can get the healing weapons for it or that there's a spot in Phase 2 that completely blocks all but two of his attacks.
@TheUnrestCure I doubt they'll go that far, for this specifically. Even if it's just making the old games backwards and or relisting the XBO/PS4 FoC port, RotDS, & Devastation, it's Microsoft doing what they can in the immediate short term while saying they know there's a demand for these old games. Hasbro's gonna be making toys based on WFC & FoC for a good while - if these games get dedicated Remasters with online in a reasonable time, both companies stand to profit massively.
I hope it's a re-release of the Beast Wars PS1 game. I mean it was awful, but I enjoyed it as a kid
