You know the Xbox One version of the LEGO Harry Potter Collection? The one that was remastered for the console back in 2018 following the Xbox 360 versions? Yeah... it's getting another remaster for Xbox Series X|S this October.
This one is specifically called the Remastered LEGO Harry Potter Collection, and it features all the same content as the Xbox One release along with two DLC packs. The main attraction is definitely the 60FPS gameplay along with native 4K resolution (possibly including Series S as well?), along with haptic feedback and high-resolution shadow maps.
Before you ask, this will not be a free upgrade for owners of the Xbox One version, but apparently there will be some kind of discount for those players - and at the moment, that version is actually on sale for just £5.24 / $5.99.
You can check out the new trailer up above ahead of the game's release on October 8th, 2024.
"What better way to go back to Hogwarts than with the remastered LEGO Harry Potter Collection? Experience the adventure all over again as you battle the basilisk, compete in the Triwizard Tournament and take part in the Battle of Hogwarts with enhanced graphics and 4k resolution."

And the generation of pointless remasters continues…
I am sure this already runs at 4k and 60fps on the Series X...
@ZeD Hmm, I was of the belief that it's 30FPS on Xbox One.
This just seems like a move to get a recognizable franchise and product out for the holiday season this year to me. If there's a market for it, then why not? Not for me personally, but to each their own.
@FraserG I think I am mistaken. It is the only Lego game not on the FPS boost program.
Still a silly upgrade lol
@ZeD @FraserG Just did a few quick searches and also tested the game from my end, and it is 60fps already. Seems like it natively ran at this frame-rate so no need for FPS boost.
So on Series X, it seems the only benefits to this upgrade are better shadows… and I guess better textures designed for 4k? Maybe better haptics? I didn’t think the Series X controller had any different rumble capabilities than the standard One controller but I could be wrong. Think they could be referring to the PS5 controller there. Odd remaster, in my opinion.
I’m only thinking a lot rn because I bought this game a couple months ago and was planning on playing it soon 😂
@Altaria_97 yep, I picked it up the other day as saw a vid confirming it was already 4k 60fps. used a voucher so cost me 24p!!
As much as I like the games I don't want to pay more then $5 to upgrade from the X1 to Series. Besides want a year or two the upgrade will likely be below $5.
Hmm I have the original so depends how much the upgrade will be and if it's worth it for series s
