Darksiders returns! Six years on from Xbox One's Darksiders 3, developer Gunfire Games has teased a brand-new entry in the action adventure series. We've thrown the team's initial trailer up above for your viewing pleasure - it's very teaser-y so don't expect much in the way of revealing footage.
What we can see is that, judging by this moody teaser, the developer is very much sticking to the series' dark fantasy aesthetic here in whatever the next game ends up being called. We're assuming Darksiders 4, but at this stage, we honestly don't know!
Here's how Xbox Wire describes the upcoming title:
"The foreboding rumble of caverns eons old. Embers swirl through the air, cast up from pools of bubbling lava. Three enormous heads, hewn from otherworldly stone suddenly burst into life with mystical flame. The Charred Council roar a single word in unison: HORSEMAN.
It won’t be long until we reveal more about where the Darksiders series is going next, but for now, know this… the Four Horsemen will ride again."
And... that's about all we have for now. There's no launch window, release platforms or anything - we just know that a brand-new Darksiders game is in development for THQ Nordic over at Gunfire Games. Let's hope they go back to the format for 1 and 2.
@Moby Yeah count me in on that.
I really enjoyed 3 and have not finished Genesis. That being said if it is more like 1 then we will have something special!
What a surprise, I really enjoyed the 1 and 2.
I hope they can finish out the story.
They better get Michael Wincott to reprise his role as Death. He brought that character to life.
@MsJubilee if he brought Death to life did he make a good or a bad job? lol
I only really liked Darksiders 1. I wish Gunfire would just give us more Remnant games, the second one might be the single best co-op game I've ever played and 90% of what I play are co-op games.
First was by far the best, hopefully they go back more to that format. The second wasn't bad but deviated away and had too many added features that weren't needed like loot grind.
