Following the recent release of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Capcom has now put out a new survey, asking fans what other "deluxe remaster" titles they would like to see in the future.
In this survey, Capcom asks "would you like to see more 'deluxe remaster' titles like this [Dead Rising] in the future?', with remasters being defined as games with improved playability and updated graphics (thanks, VGC).
Individuals who don't want this are apparently then asked if they would prefer a "full remake" over a "deluxe remaster, or if they would settle with a basic remaster featuring improved resolution.
Capcom also goes on to ask participants what series they'd like to see get this kind of deluxe remaster makeover - with options like Devil May Cry, Darkstalkers, Okami and Resident Evil. Capcom also asks if players would be up for more Dead Rising games including brand-new entries.
If you haven't read our review of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster just yet, be sure to check it out:
So, what Capcom games would you like to see receive the deluxe remaster treatment? Let us know in the comments.

I don’t know what everyone else thinks but I think this reliance on remasters is going to slowly kill of the gaming industries creativity. The suits who decide what gets made won’t fund the making of new ips and we’ll just be getting games with a new lick of paint on them.
@DaddyDuder On the flip side, the only new (well, sort of, it was just kind of a weird Dino Crisis game) IP Capcom has tried as of late has been Exoprimal...
Oh, I guess Pragmata, too, but no one still has any idea what the hell that is.
@DaddyDuder Totally agree with you and we’re already seeing the ramifications of it in the industry. That said, Capcom’s actually been one of the better ones about remakes, as RE pretty much wrote the book on how to do one respectfully and bring a game into the modern age beyond just being a new coat of paint.
@somnambulance yeah I agree that the capcom res remasters/ remakes are good and I really enjoyed 4’s remake. But its still a sad sign of the times when companies aren’t making bangers like they used too. As the industry gotten bigger so has the influences of the suits in charge.
I don't feel like Capcom have enough seventh gen era games worth a "deluxe remaster", when they could be doing a full remake of the first two Dino Crisis games.
If they're going for a deluxe remaster, I wouldn't mind Resident Evil 6, as its already pretty modern so doesn't need a full remake. Other than that, maybe giving Viewtiful Joe another go?
Edit: Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen elevated to match DD2 would be cool too.
Always had this on my mind, it would be VERY INTERESTING to see Capcom remaster DMC2 with alternative story and totally overhauled combat (remake i guess considering the effort needed) to do the title justice and live up to the series as it always meant to be.
I’d prefer the grand, full on remake treatment for RE:0 and RE: Code Veronica. RE5 and RE6 are rubbish, so hopefully they won’t waste the time or money on them and instead do something like Dino Crisis or maybe something a bit more obscure like Viewtiful Joe.
Can we start with Dead Rising? It got a worse rerelease but a remaster
It was a good survey. Always nice when companies ask.
@DaddyDuder the massive “AAA” budgets have already killed creativity. Games have become a creative shade of brown because they have to appeal and sell to “everyone” to make a profit. At least remasters let people play games they might have missed out on from eras where creativity existed.
@DaddyDuder Sorry completely disagree. The fact is you don’t need ALL the staff the whole way through game development and the way it used to work was half the staff would get sacked in between projects and many would leave the industry. It was a brain drain.
Remasters (and DLC) allows more junior staff to keep working all year around and gives them a way to cut their teeth on less vital projects that don't require much of the top talent who are busy in pre-production on the next game or polishing off the current one.
In that regard it allows junior staff to improve and stay in the industry which in the long run will keep the industry more creative.
It’s more complicated than that but it is one angle.
Dino crisis 1 and 2 deluxe remaster bundle please 😎
I would buy Viewtiful Joe. I loved that game on GameCube. Otherwise not much jumps out at me. Even tho they have done a really good job bringing back older titles into the modern era. Not as easy as it seems it would be to do. Plus Capcom is raking in cash off them so i have to suspect we get a couple more.
Not if they are censored
Ohhh, how about make a new game? Instead of the mindless nonstop remasters.
Love to see over last 10 years how many remakes Capcom made compared to new games.
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired of remasters.
There's a few more Remakes for games that actually could use it, but other than that, not really. If they're gonna rehash older stuff I'd rather see more well done Collections like the MvC and Capcom Fighting Collection, things that aren't super available otherwise. But I think most people would rather see new games for existing IPs or new ones all together, and they feel that way for most of the industry.
Prefer remake over remaster
Code Veronica remake plz. At least an announcement it’s like my last white whale of gaming I need to finish and I’m debating playing this October
Give us new games instead
@themightyant maybe, but a lot of companies are making their remasters their main focus, for example sony have announced several remasters recently (days gone, horizon zero dawn) but zero new ips/games.
@DaddyDuder they haven’t announced days gone, only Horizon, though I expect it to happen.
Meanwhile since their last remaster (tlou pt 2 re) they have released Astros playroom, MLB24, Concord, (okay it failed, but it still was anew game/ip) plus Helldivers 2, stellar blade, rise of the ronin we’re all SIE published games partially funded by Sony.
Between that and the previous two (tlou pt1 & uncharted legacy) they released Spider-man 2, GOW: Ragnarök, Horizon 2, Rachet & Clank: RA, Returnal, Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy, MLB22 & MLB23 etc.
How is that “their main focus”? I think people are massively over exaggerating the amount of these remasters.
