Bethesda Still Hopes That Starfield Will Stick Around As Long As Skyrim

Starfield launched just about a year ago now, and at the time, Bethesda said that it was ready to support the game for at least five years - including DLC, updates, in-game tweaks and the likes. Well, a year on, the team is still hoping Starfield sticks around for that long, maybe even longer.

As part of a recent interview with The Gamer, Starfield's creative producer Tim Lamb was asked if the game could last as long as Skyrim; the team's seminal Xbox 360 RPG. Lamb says that he "hopes so", and that the developer has "ideas going around" in that regard.

"We do plan to support our games for a long time. So we always have ideas going around in various levels of completeness, but we're always working on something.

We want to continue to support the game for a long time, and I hope that we're able to bring as much joy as I feel like I'm seeing with Shattered Space and the REV-8."

Of course, the REV-8 land vehicle was just added for all players, while the game's Shattered Space expansion arrives at the end of September. There is some excitement for the big add-on, especially with it sounding like a more hand-crafted experience for the spacefaring RPG.

Not that long ago, Todd Howard also confirmed that the team was already hard at work on the game's second major expansion, so yeah, it sounds like there's plenty more to come from Starfield yet!
