It's been a bit of a rough patch for fighting game fans on Xbox recently, with a few retro releases completely skipping the Xbox Series X|S. Fortunately, new entries in certain series are still on the menu.

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, SNK reconfirmed its new title Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was still on the way to Xbox platforms, and it's now locked in a release date of April 24, 2025. Pre-orders are now live.

This confirmation follows on from the retro release of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos on multiple other platforms in July. Capcom is also bringing out a Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection later this year, but an Xbox release seemingly won't be happening.

When Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves does arrive, players can look forward to 22 characters (which includes some DLC characters), new mechanics, two control schemes, and a whole single-player RPG mode set in South Town to enjoy. SNK has also released a new trailer for Mai.

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, there was also a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero! (out this October) and a new look at Terry Bogard, who is coming to Street Fighter 6 as a DLC fighter next month. So don't worry, there's still plenty of fighting game action to look forward to on Xbox.
