It's no secret that Microsoft Rewards has suffered quite a few setbacks over the past year, although one new feature that's been added along the way is something called the "Weekly Console Bonus", which allows users to rack up hundreds of points per-week for simply playing games on a daily basis.
As good as it is though, it's about to get worse for everyone in the UK. As of today, the standard Weekly Console Bonus (not counting the extra 25 points for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members) has dropped to 150 points per-week rather than 250 points, and the move has been accompanied by this message:
"Starting Monday, 5 August, the Weekly Console Bonus will now reward Xbox Rewards members in the United Kingdom 150 points for players that play on their Xbox consoles five or more days in a week."
As you can see, no explanation has been given for the decrease in points per-week, but the decision follows a string of Microsoft Rewards reductions over the past 12 months-or-so. There's also no word on whether this will extend beyond the United Kingdom at some point, but for now, it seems to be exclusive to that part of the world.
Despite the downsides to Microsoft Rewards these days, it's still very possible to earn over 10,000 points per-month if you work hard at it - we've got a guide elsewhere on Pure Xbox that will help you maximise your potential earnings:
