We're a little bit late on this one, but we know that certain members of the Pure Xbox community are very keen to pick up Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged on Xbox consoles next month, so let's talk about it!
This is an enhanced version of the original Broken Sword from all the way back in 1996, which itself has never appeared on Xbox before. The difference this time around is that you get 4K remastered visuals along with upgraded audio.
"4K Remastered Visuals: Experience the magic of the original game with enhanced high-definition graphics, bringing the picturesque landscapes, detailed characters, and intricate environments to life in beautiful 4K for the first time ever."
"Enhanced Audio: Immerse your ears in the enhanced audio as Revolution delivers the finest, most stunning version of George and Nico's original adventure to date, including the incredible soundtrack from world-acclaimed composer Barrington Pheloung."
If you've never heard of it, Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is a point-and-click adventure featuring an engrossing story, fully-voiced dialogue and a fair few challenging puzzles (The Goat Puzzle, anyone?).
As has become common with remasters of point-and-click titles, there's also a new optional interface with a few redesigned elements including subtle hints for the puzzles - but you don't have to use this if you don't want to.
Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged launches for Xbox on September 19th, 2024.
"The classic multi-award winning adventure "Broken Sword - the Shadow of the Templars" returns with glorious 4K visuals and iconic remastered audio, pitching intrepid American George Stobbart and fearless journalist Nico Collard into a journey of perilous adventures and ancient conspiracies."

It may sound weird, but right now this is the game I'm looking forward to the most.
It's one of the great games of my childhood, with a very worked novel narrative (nowadays it's difficult to see such worked narratives in videogames) and with an excellent art and puzzles.
I haven't played it for 20 years, and I really want to complete it again after such a long time.
The last game I bought at launch was Mass Effect Andromeda, since then I've only played Gamepass titles and bought in offers, but with this one I will “sin” again xD
The Broken sword series is awesome and I'd definitely buy a remake of the first one, although it would be nice if they tweaked a few of the puzzles so they made more sense / were easier.
I was kinda hoping it would have an option between new and old graphics. I've only ever played the demo for this game.
Love this series. Will happily replay.
@101Force I believe they have, the goat puzzle specifically
I'm interested in picking this up as I've never played it, and it's one of those classic point & click series like Sam & Max and Monkey Island. Though may wait for a sale or something.
The goat puzzle caused me so much headaches back in the day!
