This week marks the arrival of a couple of closed betas on Xbox - one of them is New World: Aeternum which we mentioned yesterday, and the other is the "Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter", Marvel Rivals.

It's still early days and we haven't played Marvel Rivals for ourselves yet, but we're seeing a decent amount of positivity for the game so far. Here's a small sample of impressions that we've come across from players on social media:

Interestingly, the official Beta FAQ mentions that the Xbox Series S version of Marvel Rivals is currently being safeguarded due to "memory limitations", which means certain features are being held back from that console specifically until the full release. In fact, there have been a few grumbles over performance issues overall in this beta so far, but the Xbox version seems to be running pretty well on the whole - at least from what we can tell.

It's not all positive news - the game certainly has its critics as well - but the high player numbers and generally welcoming reception suggests that Marvel Rivals should be a hit when it properly launches for Xbox Series X|S.

For those who are still looking for access, signups are unfortunately no longer available for this current Marvel Rivals beta, although you may still find codes being given away on the game's social media pages and Twitch streams.

"Twitch Drops. The drops will be up for grabs from 00:00 on July 25th UTC to 00:00 on July 28th UTC."

"Additionally, you can also follow us on social media and participate in community events on Discord. Some event prizes include the chance to participate in the CBT."
