Following the reveal of the free-to-play shooter Marvel Rivals in March, NetEase Games has now officially confirmed the title is coming to consoles, including Xbox Series X|S.
This 6v6 player verse player experience will enter its closed beta phase across all platforms on July 2024. Here's a bit about it:
"Heroes are split into three distinct roles based on their unique power inclinations: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. You’re free to pick your preferred role and hero, teaming up with allies to create a versatile and dynamic lineup for battle.
"In Marvel Rivals, the bonds and friendships that once lived only in the lore are brought to life on the battlefield through Team-Up Abilities, further enriching and changing your combat strategy."
Marvel Rivals will come loaded with all sorts of game modes and maps, as well as some environmental destruction. It seems there will also be a "Scarlet Spider" costume locked exclusively to the PlayStation 5.

Vanguard and Duelist. Looks like CFVG and YGO players can settle their beef lol.
Not a game I predicted. And not one I see with any staying powers. Looking to be another Gotham City Imposters.
Awesome. I can't wait to try this on Xbox. I hope the game will have crossplay.
If Xbox was smart they would counter ps exclusives smh they could’ve done a spawn or hulk for this
I don't mind Scarlet Spider being PS5 exclusive if we get Ghost Spider/Spider Gwen on XBOX without any exclusivity issues.
I'm sorry, but no, it did not "lock in an xbox release".
It's a limited-time, closed (meaning invite only) beta test. The full release isn't rumored to be until next year (though I could see it dropping late this year, the previous alpha test was VERY polished), and there is currently no announced or assumed release date.
And there doesn't "seem" to be a PS exclusive Scarlet Spider skin, it's not implied...it's right there, 100% confirmed, in plain text.
It actually looks pretty cool.
@InterceptorAlpha Oh Damn, I remember that game. I tried to play it and it just sucked really bad. I'm glad I didn't pay anything for it and it was free with Games with Gold. At least they got the name correct.
Like most of these free-to-play games it will be gone in 2 to 3 years.
Just make another awesome GotG game for Pete's Sake, Eidos Montreal has proved to be more than capable of delivering.

Oh that's sweet, It's Sony’s usual way of making their fanbase feel special😅....I jest, I jest.
Looks like a lot of fun 👍
Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to play. You almost feel bad for indie games like Hypercharge Unboxed when they've got to go up against games like this, and they think people will pay $30 for it when this is free. Lol
Kinda looks like SMITE with superheroes.
THAT IS NOT a Scarlet Spider costume!
Neither Ben nor Kaine had anything remotely that horrible looking!
@InterceptorAlpha might scratch that overwatch itch with characters people know so we will see
i just hope a game comes along to kill off overwatch entirely
I will definitely try this out, not sure it will last longer than 2 years or so but worth a try!
@oopsiezz Why do you seem to have a personal vendetta against Hypercharge? It is one thing if the game had issue. But your sole complaint is that it didn't launch on Gamepass.
I can say for 100% certainty I will not be touching this free to play shooter at all. Meanwhile I have the founder's edition with about a dozen hours in Hypercharge already. And it has 4 player split screen which already makes it a ton better.
@InterceptorAlpha It's a hero shooter like OW, not a standard FPS like Imposter's was.
@TheSimulator Spawn isn't a Marvel character. The obly reason Sont has the exclusive is because they own Spider-mannrights for games and video media.
@ValentineMeikin Sony owns the rights to all of the Spider characters.
@tristanfey The way in which Sony gatekept Spiderman himself for Rivals is the way I want them to do it.
Do you see Sony requiring that Peter and Peni Parker is a six month exclusive? No.
They're saying that ONE costume out of an unknown number is Playstation exclusive at launch.
Gwen Stacy could easily roll out as part of an update, and Sony aren't going to go nuts demanding she's not coming to anything else for several months to a year.
@ValentineMeikin I had misunderstood what you were saying. I think I was looking at someone else's comment to be honest.
Yeah a single custom skin is definitely way better than exclusive characters. Especially since the game will be cross platform between consoles and computer.
