It's now been over a month since the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, and despite some of the negativity surrounding Team Green in the first half of this year, we can't deny that it was an amazing show last month.
In fact, Microsoft says that last month's showcase was its "highest-rated" on record - with an array of huge first and third-party demos and trailers delivering the goods. With all that said, what do you think were the most popular trailers of the show?
Well, unsurprisingly Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 takes top spot (after all, it became the most-viewed trailer on the COD YouTube channel), but the top 10 is actually quite surprising over on the Xbox channel. Here's the team's full top 10 list - oh, and a special shout-out to Klobrille for the idea with this one:
1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
2. Age of Mythology: Retold
3. Gears of War: E-Day
4. Avowed
5. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
6. Fable
7. Fragpunk
8. Perfect Dark
9. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
10. DOOM: The Dark Ages
We'd never have expected Age of Mythology: Retold to take the number two spot there, despite how popular the series is. DOOM: The Dark Ages being so low is another surprise, although do bear in mind that these are just the stats from the official Xbox channel - plenty of views will have been gathered elsewhere.
Anyway, we just thought this was a pretty interesting list to look at - and it provides a bit more context surrounding each of these Xbox Games Showcase titles and how they're trending right now. Hopefully we get to actually play the majority of these games within the next year or two!
From this top 10, which game are you most excited for? Vote in the poll and let us know more in the comments!

Wow! No love for Expedition 33.
I love how they say "the negativity surrounding Xbox" as if it isn't self-inflicted lol.
Don't you HATE it when people are mad at you because of your actions?
The Doom and Indiana Jones trailers have way more views on the Bethesda channel than the Xbox channel, so this isn't totally accurate. And I think that some of these trailers have been run as ads on youtube, which boosts their views. Still interesting info to see.
Call of Duty first seems to be saying the ActiBlizz adquisition was a good idea. For Microsoft at least.
Not for me. I have to pay more because of a game I don't even like.
@FarmDog08
Best trailer on the show.
I’m shocked to see Doom so low but I guess I’m also shocked by Eternal not being more popular than it is. I guess most FPS players are more focused on multiplayer experiences?
Expedition 33! Since not on list then Fable 😏
I'm most looking forward to Shattered Space and Indy, so I must be an outlier!!!
Voted Fable but no votes for MSFS2024 :/
where is indy? i bet its pushed to 2025.
i vote avowed based on how much i like outer worlds. hope im good.
looks like perfect dark will be our last party before xbox console death.
My favourite part was when Phil said no new gamepass tiers or price hikes from the show that aged well didn't it💩🤬🤷
But fav trailer was gears what else!
There is an interesting theory doing the rounds about when certain games are going to be released, because there were 4 games in the Summer Showcase that did not have the Series logo at the end of the trailer. They were:
Gears of War: E-Day
Perfect Dark
State of Decay 3
Blade
The theory is that these games will release on the neXt generation Xbox, with the long time rumour being that that console will release in 2026.
I've been saying from the outset that E-Day will be a neXt box launch title because the trailer featured no gameplay at all, whereas with both 4 and 5, their reveals included actual gameplay, and then the titles released the around 12 months later. Thus, this theory regarding the logos also ties in with my deduction regarding the E-Day trailer and its lack of gameplay.
A new console in 2026 is looking even more odds on right now, as is E-Day being a launch title, which makes perfect sense. It will be interesting to see whether this theory holds water, and whether any of the other games are also going to be launch titles...
No STALKER 2??? That's my #1
I love the users in this site! We are not in any way in line with these stats which is ok with me. Give me a good fun single player game any day!
Going by game play and the amount we actually got and knowing actually what the game will be like I going Doom.
Even fable and perfect didn’t give too much of idea. And of course gears didn’t at all real gameplay wise. And Indy I’m not that sure about as well as Avowed.
@Fiendish-Beaver
Admire your next generation hardware positivity.
Don’t care what Xbox have come out and said, my brain is not taking it in as a yes to another full hardware no gimmicks, like improved with cloud power rubbish. Under the tv hardware next generation Xbox, like a series x but more power until I see far more evidence.
Absolutely baffling. Doom and Indy below Fragpunk!? You’ve got to be kidding me.
Hey, @OldGamer999! There's always more power and capability available above and beyond the Series X, matey. It will just come with a greater cost. So it's not that it is not possible, it's just a question of what can they do within a budget that makes it affordable and attractive to potential customers.
All that said, I am still not 100% certain that there will be another generation beyond the Series. I'm minded to think there will based on the need to attract Game Pass subscribers, as consoles is where the most subscribers are still to be found. I also think that another generation is required in order to meet the capabilities that were promised for this one; 60 FPS, Ray Tracing etc., and it is clear that with Unreal 5 becoming a go to engine, that a more powerful machine is required. So, whereas at one point I thought the possibilities of there being a neXt box being pretty bleak, I do now think it much more likely, probably 70/30 in favour of there being one...
@Fiendish-Beaver
You have probably seen me write before about the console uptake for GP is over 50% of subs.
And I have never understood why Microsoft haven’t acted on this and promoted the series console a lot more.
In fact they have done the reverse and sort of left the console as a thing that’s just about.
Especially outside of the USA.
