We're not far away from the next entry in the EA Sports FC series! It's been announced today that EA Sports FC 25 will launch on September 27th, 2024, and as usual it'll be available for Xbox One, Series X and Series S.

There are loads of new features in this year's game to look forward to, with perhaps the biggest highlight being something called "Rush". This replaces the VOLTA game mode from recent years, transforming it into a 5v5 experience with unique rules such as rush kickoffs and Blue Cards. Here's a bit more about it:

"EA SPORTS FC 25 introduces Rush, an all-new 5v5 experience that harnesses the same gameplay controls and true-to-football mechanics of 11v11. Available across Football Ultimate Team™, Clubs and Kick-Off, Rush is tailor-made to play with your friends as it allows groups of four to team up and take to the pitch together, with an AI-controlled goalkeeper.

As a singleplayer, fast-paced experience in Manager Career, Rush will have you take control of your Youth Academy development throughout the season with new playable 5v5 tournaments."

Beyond that, other new features include an overhaul to tactical foundations known as "FC IQ", Live Start Points so you can begin your season at any time based on real-life league tables, the addition of Women's Football to Career Mode, and a whole lot more.

It's not just the big features we're excited for either - there are lots of little things that we're hyped about, such as a machine learning system that generates more accurate faces for lower-league players, new "POV" cameras that you'll notice during cutscenes, and even the ability to celebrate with your team's mascot when you score a goal!

If you're interested in picking up EA Sports FC 25, pre-orders are available today on the Xbox Store for a variety of different editions. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members get a 10% discount on the price, along with a free 10-hour trial that will begin on September 20th. We have a feeling that trial will prove very popular in a couple of months' time!
