Dungeons Of Hinterberg has been out on Xbox Game Pass since last week, and the title has seemingly proved pretty popular so far. Its early reception has been rather good — the game has an 82 on Metacritic right now — but that doesn't mean that the team's work is done - Microbird Games wants fans to help spread the word about the title.
Taking to Twitter this week, the Dungeons of Hinterberg dev has asked its 'slayers' to help in "spreading the word" about its recent Xbox Game Pass release.
We're not entirely sure if this is simply a clever bit of marketing or a genuine plea to get more folks to play the game, but either way, fans have seemed happy to oblige in the replies so far.
And you know what, this article serves as our own Pure Xbox reminder to give this game a whirl. We definitely enjoyed our time with this new Game Pass adventure last week, and given that the game is free for subscribers, why not give it a go and see what you think!
Will you answer the call and spread the word about Hinterberg? Vote in our poll and drop your thoughts down below.

Ack. I've been so busy lately that I haven't even managed to start this one yet.
Happy to oblige, I've recommended it to a few of my friends.
I'm currently playing an hour so per night on my Rog Ally and it's the perfect game after a stressful the day. The vibe is cosy, dungeons are really fun, especially with the puzzle elements and the mechanics are solid.
It's really surprised me.
Fantastic game! Hope it finds a good audience. It deserves it!
That's the thing about Game Pass is that you can try any of them for FREE (as your Subscription allows - and yes I know the Subscription has a 'cost' to it) and if you enjoy, can tell your Friends/Family to 'try' it as well.
I think Word of Mouth is more powerful than big budget Advertising - especially as more Gamers distrust Publishers and the 'quality' at launch, distrust their marketing etc. It seems more are relying on reviews and word of mouth now...
With smaller games that really don't havre marketing budgets, they rely heavily on word of mouth and maybe get 'bonuses' from Sub Services (like Game Pass) if they get more people in - get 5m people to play, they get a 'bonus' from MS for example - similar to how some Publishers may set Sales targets - sell 6m, you'll get a bonus, get at least 85% metacritic review, you'll get a bonus - ask Obsidian about bonuses based on review score who 'missed' out with Fallout: New Vegas as it scored 84% so didn't get their 'bonus'.
18.5 hours in and still utterly hooked. The gameplay and vibe are spot on. Dungeons are surprisingly varied and the different spells per zone really add to the variety.
Story gets very interesting once you take a row boat ride and keeps getting better.
My personal pick for GOTY so far.
Great game 😎 anyone know if theres a time limit etc with the days?
This reeks of desperation.
Dont sleep on this game
I try to stay away from games that smell of DEI whenever possible. Sorry.
It is odd wording. I hope they're not struggling for some reason after the GP launch. I do remember hearing that Xbox would give better payouts to devs/companies if a game had high player/retention numbers, is that true? If so, perhaps they haven't hit their intended goal.
Again, not sure if that's true or the case. Certainly hope they're just doing some cheeky marketing.
Lol they're begging all those people on Twitter that love to voice support on games but never actually play them, to actually play their game. I think that'll get them a like and a retweet at best!
