Bethesda's portfolio was featured throughout the latest Xbox showcase, but one title (unsurprisingly) missing was The Elder Scrolls 6.
While all the focus for Todd Howard is on Fallout right now, IGN Live attempted to get a status update from Microsoft's Gaming CEO Phil Spencer about this anticipated title. While Spencer is certainly in the know and seems somewhat excited, it appears he can't say anything right now.
In response to a question asking if he's seen the new game in action, he jokingly passed on a message to Todd, asking him to "speed it up". So, there you go - that's the latest on the development of The Elder Scrolls 6.
Howard is also busy working with MachineGames on the new Indiana Jones game, which will arrive later this year. Starfield just got an update as well (with the Shattered Space DLC arriving later this year). And if you are really in need of an Elder Scrolls fix, you always check out the anniversary celebrations currently taking place in ESO.
Based on previous reports, Elder Scrolls 6 could still be a while off, and when it arrives it's expected to be exclusive. The game was originally revealed back in 2018, and according to Howard, the announcement was made early to simply reassure fans a new game was on the way.
When do you think we'll see the next major Elder Scrolls entry? Let us know in the comments.

It doesn't seem as far away after the trove of games we just saw. I am still very excited for it though, maybe it will get a proper reveal next year.
So did Phil just get a pass for this past month??
It's kind of surreal..... he dangles some shiny keys and all is fogiven.
Mind you, some really shiny keys!
@CallMeDuraSouka I agree. I had trouble hearing him and the others speak about their developers as if they're more than just numbers and dollars to Microsoft.
These last 5 months have made me incredibly sceptical on Xbox.
What time was the interview?
Judging from his comments regarding Doom and Satya's involvement of late, I would be more surprised if it did stay as an exclusive.
I've tried to really get into Skyrim and it never sticks. It feels bad to play imo, with about as much impact to the combat as punching a tree in Minecraft. There were also several off the beaten path areas I discovered, that seemed like the kind of challenge that would be rewarded with cool loot or something. I'd spend a bunch of time inching through these challenging areas and get barely any reward. When the game feels bad, the story is boring, and the rewards for exploration are largely bland...I just didn't see the point.
But hey I've bought it several times, so at the end of the day Bethesda is fine.
@DonkeyFantasy I meant that I couldn't get on with it even at release, lol. But I mean...after Starfield? All I can hope for is that the next ES games pleases fans or at least is doing things that current games are doing when it comes out. I have almost zero hope for Fallout. Unless they give it to another team. Seems Fallout is kind of just an aesthetic now...
Listen to Phil, Todd. I mean I can wait especially since I will redo my gaming PC for this game but woo, I’m ready.
