June's 'Redacted Direct' following the Xbox Games Showcase this year is already pretty-much confirmed to be about the next Call of Duty, and although that's not been confirmed by Microsoft yet - developer Treyarch has started teasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 today.
The long-time CoD dev is now hosting a cryptic website called 'thetruthlies', and the site features a short video clip embedded into a digital TV set. You can mess about with up to six channels on the set (another hint at the game's title), with the rest of the channels expected to switch on in the coming days.
If you don't fancy messing about with the site itself, here's the clip on social media:
Once all the scary-looking soldiers have finished doing their thing, the first clip pans around to an image of Mount Rushmore - where Black Ops themed banners have been placed over the four faces. Three of those banners read 'THE TRUTH LIES', while the final banner shows the exact same logo that was teased for Xbox's Redacted Direct.
Anyway, yep, this looks very much like one of the Black Ops teasers of old, and we can expect to see more of these appear in the coming weeks. Then, the curtain should be properly pulled back on June 9th, when the next Call of Duty Black Ops title is set to be fully revealed.
Are you excited for a new Black Ops title from Xbox? Tell us what you think of this first teaser down below.

Blair witch vibes
I am so hopeful the rumor, tho some now say it’s been confirmed that this COD is Series X/S and PC/PS5 only. Bye bye last gen. That will make this an exciting game for me this year. I want to see how much they can turn it up without having to use older hardware. 24 hours after COD was announced for GP, Series X sales on Amazon were up 220%. They didn’t report Series S numbers. But i think a lot of Xbox one players will come over for Black Ops. Then next year GTA6 and last gen should largely be moved over.
Let’s hope it’s got a great campaign and lengthy one for a change.
I used to enjoy the old good length COD campaigns from back in the day.
@HonestHick
Let’s hope it’s on GP day one at no extra cost.
It’s then something Xbox can advertise and boast about with GP.
@OldGamer999 not so sure we don’t see a price increase. But i buy my games digitally so it won’t hit me. But i am sure we will see some new tier’s as been rumored.
@HonestHick
I guess if you already GPU like me until May 2025 any increase etc, wouldn’t affect that or getting COD day one.
If it does I think that would be very wrong.
@OldGamer999 agreed. Yeah it shouldn’t. That would be way wrong.
4 player split screen zombies or bust.
@HonestHick @OldGamer999
Likely what you will see is what they already did with Gamepass from Gold.
A new Gamepass tier will be added. GPU+COD or something succiently named like that.
It'll be a more expensive package. And likely have something similar to where you could trade so many months of Gold for GPU, you will trade so many months of GPU for GPU+COD.
@InterceptorAlpha and that is possible and a great point. I could see that. I think it will need some little extra perk so it’s not all centered around COD. That way it can still sell to others that don’t like COD but see the reason to join that tier. What that perk alongside COD would be, i have no the slightest idea.
@InterceptorAlpha
I hope that doesn’t happen for existing GPU subscribers. Maybe when mine runs out MAY 2025 then I have that option.
To do that half way through my current subscription would be meet with very bad taste.
Being honest Xbox needs friends and not be creating enemies of existing loyal customers that have been with Xbox since the very beginning.
Im not a cod player, but Im always interested in the tech they are using etc. Will be interesting to see any benifit if its current gen only...
@OldGamer999 im in it for the campaigns. wish they made good dlc coop missions.
@rustyduck
Hoping for a great campaign with good length.
Especially is it’s this generation only.
It would have given them some focus and more time instead of fannying about with last generation consoles.

Any one old enough to remember the Blair Witch Project's "viral" marketing? It was better than the actual movie.
Sounds like it should be pretty similar to Cold War
