While all the focus for Xbox is currently on the launch of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, its Cambridge-based developer Ninja Theory has apparently already got its next game confirmed.
According to Windows Central's "trusted sources", the studio's "next game" has already been greenlit "in addition" to the previously revealed "experimental game" Project Mara.
The same source also claims there are "no plans whatsoever to close the studio any time soon" following Microsoft's recent shutdown of four developers including Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Tango Gameworks (Hi-Fi RUSH).
Hellblade II is out today on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud Gaming and Game Pass. Our review on Pure Xbox is also live.
Will you be playing Hellblade II? What would you like to see next from Ninja Theory? Let us know in the comments.

That's nice to hear, hope this is true.
I won't download Hellblade II right away though, I'll wait for the inevitable 60fps/full screen patch instead, hype just doesn't affect me.
Don’t like the - we won’t the won’t be closing down ninja theory “any time soon” disclaimer.
Seems like the 1st misstep and it’s all over for you allowance.
Well, I’m glad they aren’t closing “any time soon”. But who knows what next week brings, eh?
It’s really sad that the studios future even needs to be mentioned before they release their biggest game ever.
Not just sad, it’s really pathetic. Well done Microsoft…
Are people still pretending Jez Corden has any credibility?
@MrMagic this site for one! I really enjoy game reviews on this site but so much of the content is just repeating baseless rumours from idiots like Jez and copying posts from reddit...

Usually i'd be right there with you. But Ninja Theory is a small studio and the team on Hellblade was only around 80 people. I don't think this game will get a 60fps patch tbh, and the screen resolution seems to be an artistic choice which is unlikely to change.
Keep in mind xbox specifically bought ninja theory. This is not true about tango/arkane austin. They did the research and decided NT fit their desire for a studio. Tango/AA were merely inclusions in the bethesda package. BGS, ID, machine games, zeninax online and dozens of IP are the real reason they owned tango/AA.
Bethesda clearly had a reckoning coming hence the reason such a large publisher was even available when the industry was at a high water mark. Its a shame xbox couldn't save all bethesda studios but not surprising they couldn't. The poor state of bethesda does not really reflect overall xbox studios.
@Kienda They also opened two studios, Activision Austin and Activision Elsewhere. They also confirmed that they relocated part of the staff. All companies have been shutting studios down or outsourcing games to avoid any kind of risk, in very bad or crunch conditions in some cases, like Nintendo with Metroid Dread, according to the developers.
@themightyant
Who knows, maybe they already have a 60fps version, they’re just keeping it away from us at launch for a number of reasons.
