Today marks the arrival of another big Xbox Game Pass addition for April 2024, plus three new Core titles!
The new JRPG that's available on all versions of Xbox Game Pass aside from "Core" is Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which we just gave a "Great" 8/10 to in our Pure Xbox review earlier this week.
The game isn't yet live on the service at the time of writing, but we're expecting it to join in a few hours' time.
While Core members might be missing out on that one, they're at least getting treated to three new additions that are available at no extra charge. All of these games (Deep Rock Galactic, Superhot: Mind Control Delete and Wreckfest) are included with the standard version of Game Pass already, but they're brand-new to Game Pass Core.
So, let's take a look at each of these Xbox Game Pass titles in more detail:
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (Console, PC, Cloud)
"Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes is designed to bring players a modern take on a classic JRPG experience. Get ready to lead 100+ playable characters through a war-torn world only you can save."
Deep Rock Galactic (Xbox Game Pass Core)
"Deep Rock Galactic is a 1-4 player co-op FPS featuring badass space Dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters."
Superhot: Mind Control Delete (Xbox Game Pass Core)
"The long-awaited third game in the groundbreaking SUPERHOT franchise - MIND CONTROL DELETE gives you more insight into the world of SUPERHOT, more story, more signature gameplay. Keep dancing the slow-motion ballet of destruction for so much longer than ever before."
Wreckfest (Xbox Game Pass Core)
"Wreckfest is a demolition derby themed racing game with soft-body damage modeling, sophisticated driving dynamics and in-depth vehicle upgrading, featuring both demolition derbies and more traditional track races. It’s all about fun, breakneck racing and over-the-top crashes."
Which of these will you be playing? Let us know down in the comments section below.

4 good games, top update.
Too many games, not enough drive space 😫
Works dragging today 😭 can't wait to get home n start eiyuden 😂
Don’t know why but JRPGS always feel odd to me on Xbox.
Will play this on switch or ps.
I heard somewhere that Eiyuden Chronicles is a perfect fit for Game Pass.
@Meehanuk_1987 Funny how brand association works like that. NES and SNES were the king of RPGs, then Nintendo basically lost all RPGs with the N64, and it all went to PS1 and PS2, then XB entered the fray and had a bunch of JRPG exclusives on 360 and even FF went multiplat to XB, but the old guard remembers those 4 specific consoles forever as the home of the JRPG and associates the brands until eternity.
Though this being a Suikoden successor, intentionally copying the PS1 style, there's a least a little rationale to that.
@Meehanuk_1987 Huh? What's the difference between PS and Xbox? I could see playing it on a portable like Switch might somehow feel more compelling. I completed Sea of Stars on Steam Deck over XCloud; not sure when or how often I would have fired it up on the big screen. I played while using the TV for watching other sports, series & movies.
@RetroMan71 Wait till thursday for Jedi Survivor at around 150gb total with all patches.
@theduckofdeath I just think I’m used to playing majority of the jrpgs that I’ve enjoyed on ps and Nintendo.
I mainly use my Xbox for multiplayer fps games halo etc.
@themightyant Buries head in hands...
I just got gamepass ultimate.
Man i am really having a blast with it.
Even played on my phone, just to try it out, lol sinds then my switch is collecting dust.
Not sure if I should play that smaller prequel game of Eiyuden or not. I tend to bounce off games so I might just play the new one so I don't get bored and go back to the other one if I feel like it.
@Meehanuk_1987 you’re the reason people say “Xbox has no jrpgs”!
@MetalGear_Yoshi the prequel isn’t for everyone. I’d say go right to hundred heroes. That said, I did enjoy rising, particularly the characters, despite it being really repetitive.
Gamepass saves so much money, 'Eiyuden Chronicle' would cost you £45 on other consoles Even if you pay for their top subscription.
@Sifi plus it's not worth 45 bucks anyway. A certain consultant group dipped their claws into it and changed alot of original dialouge to beter suit modern audiences
Welp since Eiyuden is broken on Switch apparently I will try on gamepass.
