In case you missed our recent story about Xbox Showcase rumours for this summer, it's been claimed that an announcement about Activision Blizzard's library of older titles may be coming in the near future.
This is according to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, who says Xbox could be "gearing up for an announcement on its back catalog of games following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard". The same source goes on to mention how the reported 'Black Ops Gulf War' game "might not be the only Call of Duty-related announcement" coming in June.
"Speaking with sources, it’s been said that Xbox is gearing up for an announcement on its back catalog of games following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, too, so Gulf War might not be the only Call of Duty-related announcement that we’ll be hearing in June."
Whether it's just Call of Duty or a wider range of Activision Blizzard titles remains to be seen, and we're assuming Tom's hinting at these games coming to Xbox Game Pass, as has been the plan for quite a long time.
This all stems from claims the new Call of Duty (which is again expected to be called Black Ops Gulf War) will be present at this year's Xbox Showcase, but there'll likely be a more "traditional" reveal prior to this event, with the Showcase taking a "deep dive" look at the title.

I hate warzone but don't mind the OG CoD multiplayer. And with gamepass me n the buds all have access so we'll definitely give CoD a go. I like campaigns as well so likely will try and play through the series
It makes sense - after all, MS owns that Back Catalogue now. I do wonder whether or not it will be the 'latest' games (MW3 or MW2) with contracts to Sony and not knowing what they may have in those contracts that MS would honour. Black Ops 3 marked the first game in Sony's 'partnership' in 2015 so it will be interesting to see what games come and/or when. It could really depend on when exactly Sony's contract expires or what those contracts stipulated.
In anycase, we all expect news on ABK games coming to Game Pass and as CoD is their biggest console IP, its probably the IP most focus is on.
For a moment I thought it was something Gears-related.
As long as they fix the bugs, exploits and hackers the older games have now. As much as I like to play some Black Ops 2 I don't like the idea of possibly getting my system hacked or what not in its current state.

If they arent getting old spiderman and transformer games and the like relisted, who cares. These games are actively available for sub $10 .

Just get them all on already enough talk just get all Activision games they can on gamepass and stop this f'ing about already dragging all this out something awful they are

which was the last one to have a good (i say good in relative CoD terms) single player campaign?
The sales right now has a good bunch of CoD in it which is precisely how a lot of games go onto GP. They are in the sale, week after it finishes it's in GP. This current sale ends 19/04 and seems to follow the same pattern. Of course I'm just guessing with an opinion but it is a pattern we've seen the past few years with titles.
