The Fallout hype train shows no signs of slowing down right now! The success of the TV show has led to a massive renewed interest in the franchise, with three Fallout games topping the Xbox charts in the UK and US as things stand.
Better yet, Bethesda has shared some incredible stats, revealing that one million players booted up Fallout 76 in a single day, and five million players were identified across all Fallout games in one day (across all platforms).
The three best-selling games on the Xbox Store right now are Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, but Fallout 76 isn't far behind - and keep in mind that Amazon Prime is giving away that game for free at the moment as well.
It's a fantastic time for Fallout 4 to be getting its free Xbox Series X and S upgrade, which drops this Thursday, April 25th. The game is already topping the charts, and surely it's going to receive yet another influx of players this week.

Hopefully it could convince Bethesda to make some new paid dlc for fallout 4 because we are not getting a new game anytime soon that's for sure
Also, 5 out of the top 10 games in the Europe top 10 chart are now Xbox Game Studio titles. 4 of them being Fallout titles with Fallout 4 at number 1
I have the feeling video game adaptations are going to be the new trend in TV and cinema, sort of like superheroes were in the 2010s. The success of adaptations like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Fallout, Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and their ability to generate interest in the associated games anew, is going to make every sizeable publisher want adaptations of their work, and Hollywood will want to cash in on the new craze.
I eagerly await the revival of Gex once all major extant properties have been sufficiently milked.
@Ralizah
You forgot about the Halo TV show
Hollywood will always look for good original stories to make into film.
I'm one of those five million. Back into Fallout 4 with a new character and loving it so far.
I've been playing fallout 76 again. That game is amazing.
TV, TV, TV... was the future
Fallout, undoubtedly one of Xbox greatest acquisitions!
@BBB There was already a Tetris movie. It was all about getting Tetris released outside of Russia - which, apparently, is a rather gripping story mainly because of Soviet Era red tape and control as well as licensing disputes.
It's pretty wild the hoops that had to be jumped through for one game (I only read about it - I have not seen the movie).
Come tomorrow I'll be jumping into that Fallout 4 next-gen update, even though I've beaten it multiple times. That and Rift apart on the Steam Deck have me plenty satisfied until Hellblade 2 next month!
I hope the Gears of War show has the same effect. This is yet another reason for MS to launch a Marcus Fenix collection. It could be a huge hit and give lots of life to the series.
In the 80's, we had some of the most brilliant market campaigns ever, executed by Hasbro; G.I. JOE and Transformers. Toys with comic books, TV shows, and movies to back them up. The first G.I. JOE 5-part mini-series aired on immediately after school on the last day of school in NYC. I can home from finishing 1st grade and that is how the summer started.
I jumped back into Fallout 76, but I’ll be jumping back into Fallout 4 come tomorrow. Yep, I am one of the people swept up in Fallout mania atm.
