Microsoft has announced that the MEGA Xbox 360 console set unveiled last September is coming to the UK, and so, we decided to take a look at reviews of the US version to see what folks make of the 3:4 scale set - and the reception seems pretty positive so far.
Over on the Target website, the build has a rating of over four stars at the time of writing, from almost 50 user reviews. A handful of these ratings think that the quality isn't quite there for the price, but the majority are very positive indeed.
One rating says that the set is "identical to an Xbox 360" and that "the light up brick effects are a tremendously cool addition to the set as well". Another glowing review says that "it is an awesome replica and fun to build", with its "little easter eggs, a controller, and a game case with disc".
In the US, the set comes in at $149.99, while the upcoming UK launch brings a price point of £177.99. There's a bit of a markup on the UK release then (and that's quite a lot of money there, we must admit), but still, you may want to grab one of these if it's your sort of thing!
UK pre-orders aren't live just yet, but we're expecting them to go up imminently based on Xbox UK's tweet:
We'll throw some product links below anyway - including the Target version for Xbox fans in the US:

Silly question but wtf is this? Is it Lego or a different version of lego? Is it a 360 emulator box or something? Assuming it plays games at that price? If it was a Game pass streaming box I'm interested.
well it is missing the red ring.
Oh it's a lego. I was confused at first haha.
@StonyKL it’s Lego type stuff.
Plays nothing. Does nothing.
I was hoping it was a 360 mini with some missing back compatible games.
Well that’s one way for me to relive the Xbox360 glory days and also the way it’s going at the moment in gaming, gaming as a whole glory days.
I've been waiting for the price to come down on this. I'll keep waiting
Very cool. However I still have the console currently on display. I do plug it in from time to time for games that are not backwards compatible. When it comes to legos or bricks i tend to get something unique I don’t already own. If a price drop i may be tempted 😏
I got excited for a bit and thought it was a 360 mini like that plays your 360 games but is just useless junk that does nothing.
Just put a pre-order in at Smyths for £149.99
I think this went out of stock pretty quickly at launch in the US, but was eventually restocked
If you want to put something that looks like a 360 on a shelf then you can get a used non working one for a fraction of the price of this.
I do kind of want that tbh. I’m saving that shelf space for the notre dame cathedral lego is putting out this year tho
Costs more than an actual 360 with a load of games.
I'd buy it if it weren't so damn expensive.
Looks as bricked as a typical 360! 🤣
@StonyKL Mega is another building block brand produced by Mattel. But it is pretty much compatible with Lego bricks.
In recent years enough time had passed since the original patent that other companies could now make bricks identical to the Lego system, so they no longer had to make their own proprietary versions.
