As part of Sea Of Thieves' sixth anniversary celebrations, Rare is busy preparing a few things. Firstly, it's announced a '2024 Preview Event' will be taking place on March 20th.
This will include a "sneak peek" of the content coming to Seasons 12, 13, and 14. More details will be shared as soon as possible.
In addition to this, the game's next update on March 14th will add anti-cheat. The latest Sea of Thieves video goes into this around the 2:20 mark. Here's a summary:
"Our next update in March delivers Easy Anti-Cheat - an industry-leading anti-cheat solution designed by Epic that protects a whole range of games including APEX Legends and Fortnite. EAC is an evolving platform, meaning that as cheat developers make new tools, EAC will stay updated outside of our content releases schedule to continually block cheating advancements."
Excited about what's next for Sea of Thieves? Let us know in the comments.

Not sure I have much stock in anything Rare announces in this preview event. Generally their plans seem to go by the wayside. I’ll always root for them but I’m going to be much, much less optimistic going into this event.
How the hell has it taken 6 years to add anti-cheat? The game will finally be playable again without cheaters randomly appearing and spawning kegs all over the place.
I think adding anti-cheat to the game goes against the spirit. Pirates should be allowed to cheat and steal all they want to!
@MaddieTian They've had anti-cheat systems in the game since the start, but are moving to a different "off the shelf" option with EAC so, ideally, they won't need to spend as much dev time on it and it could work better.
@PhileasFragg Their current system doesn’t work then. I often run into cheaters and have to scuttle to new world to escape them.
@MaddieTian You're not wrong.
@MaddieTian Oh yeah their current systems have always been two or three steps behind the hackers. That and hit registration issues are the two things they've never been able to address properly.
