It's the day we've all been waiting for! No, it's not Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, nor is it Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, Avowed or even GTA 6 - it's something much, much bigger than those games!
We're talking, of course, about Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator, which just launched on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S a few hours ago. It's a game where you drive taxis in a realistic fashion, managing your own taxi business in the process, and it features "286 miles of roads in a large area of Barcelona reproduced at 1:1 scale".
There aren't any official reviews available for this one yet, so we're having to resort to first impressions from the Xbox Store and social media to find out how players are feeling about it so far. The feedback is pretty mixed - some are having a great time living out their taxi fantasies, while others aren't enjoying the bugs and FPS drops.
Let's take a look at what some players are saying about Taxi Life so far:
HEIS3N8ERG on Xbox: "Graphics are good, driving is not too bad but the AI is needing work. Was stopped at a red light with other traffic and an AI car plowed right into my car. Also pedestrians moonwalking over crossings or gliding sideways can be a bit confusing."
DarkKlown718 on Xbox: "Needs more polishing, but I'm having fun. Can't wait to see the game's future."
CarsickEight5 on Xbox: "Fun game, but the constant horn blaring of cars is a huge bother. The frames like to drop a lot, but nothing too serious. Also, lets say you're driving and need to check the map? You exit the map then, what you can't see is you're going into a wall and the passenger patience is lowered."
DrilbtNaylor on Xbox: "I bought this game thinking it would have wheel support. The game looks really good from the ten-plus minutes I've played it - I just hope in the future there's something in place for wheel support."
As you can see, there are some initial concerns about the frame rate drops and general "lack of polishing" in Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator so far, although clearly there's fun to be had with the game as well.
Instead of taking everyone's word for it, you can see how Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator performs on Xbox Series X in our gameplay footage above, and we'll have some of our own hands-on impressions to share in the near future.

I just don't get it. get home form work and relax by pretending to work??
Just played a small piece but what is up with the A.I.? Was picking up a fair and was hit from behind. Waiting for a red light dor some time and again someone hit me with full speed.
It all looks like good fun but it needs some patches. Getting damage without your fault all the time and needing to repair that with you hard earned fairs takes away the fun a bit.
@Sol76 Yep, agreed. I'm finding it surprisingly addictive so far, but it's clearly in need of a bunch of patches. Road Rage: A City Driving Simulator would be a more appropriate title right now
I usually like driving games but driving the speed limit and obeying all the traffic laws in an EV taxi doesn't sound like fun.
Really enjoying this one! One the fps issues are smoothed out on console this will be great!
From the video, the steering wheel animations are bugging me. Lots of over spinning the wheel… does it have the option of driving on either side of the road as you Brit’s might not like the left hand steer…..
Wheel support is an absolute must for this one. Will check it out once it gets added, definitely looking forward to it.
@FraserG is it on gamepass?
