EON Gaming has announced another version of its 'XBHD' adapter; a plug-and-play device that allows for HDMI-powered high definition gaming on the original Xbox. This new version carries over all the 2023 edition's features - except this time it's housed in a beautiful 'Halo Spartan Edition' green casing.
We'll throw a few images of the new adapter down below, which of course would look fantastic paired up with a green original Xbox as pictured.

The new Spartan-flavoured adapter features 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i playback, LAN connectivity, a 3.5mm audio jack, and multiple HDMI slots for multiscreen play - as you can see in the images. It's important to note that the XBHD adapter only works with US NTSC systems.
Late last year we reviewed the first-edition XBHD, and ultimately came away a little disappointed. However, the biggest issue we had — the adapter's overall display brightness — is said to have been resolved on new units, and the fixed units have now seen a price cut too - cost being our other major concern when reviewing the XBHD.
Anyway, both this new Halo Spartan Edition and the standard black adapters now come in at $149.99 — down from the original $189.99 asking price — and if you'd like to read our impressions, feel free to check those out down below. Just be aware that the brightness issues we faced are supposedly now fixed!

Lol $150 sheesh
Still far to much for such a small market
This smells of "we didn't actually get 343i's blessing"...That helmet icon looks very off-model as well. More like a paintball mask.
Still need this price to come down to around 75 for me to go for it.
The price sure, the Halo branding sure. The 1080i is pretty nice. Sure some games PS2 or Xbox have 1080i but applying it to all games is really nice of a bonus.
720p for just enough as well then the interlacing of 1080i.
Sucks it's NTSC only for now but it's fine they can't all do other regions from the get go, maybe they will in the future if this does well? Not only the US are in for retro niche market stuff I'd assume?
The important thing is that they got a adapter that matches the Spartan Edition. Not whether or not they had some issues with some of the Halo iconography, or that it costs about the same as the g'damn console on eBay.
Would you want your classic Halo SE console to have a big black box sticking out of the back just so you can use a HDMI cable?
150 that's about same price or some what cheeper to some of the mail off ones to have some one mod a old Xbox but not compared to the off market adapter that convert to hdmi 40 50 $ but those are finicky to get them to work some times as for the colors really don't matter it plugged in back so its not like i going to see it lol but I all ready bought a few of the finicky ones to record and they work so I'll just have to pass
