PS5 Survey Lists Top 10 'Most Wanted' Xbox Franchises On PlayStation

One of those votes is mine. As a PlayStation gamer my whole life (sine 1996), the only XBOX I owned was 360. I have played the original trilogy back in 360 days and it's been on my wishlist ever since. Really love to play a remake of the original trilogy, 4 and 5.

I voted for Gears of War. That game was the main reason why I picked up the Xbox360 and proceeded to play that game for months on end! Amazing game. Halo however, I am not really a fan of that game series at all, I have tried to like it, but nothing about it really resonated with me. Only thing I liked halo esq was the Limited Edition Halo Series X console that I bought.

I voted for nothing as fed up with playing old games and remasters across the gaming industry.

About time it all collapsed and new game development got a kick up the backside.

How amazing was the era between the xbox360 and PS4 and Wii . Compared to the new retro and remaster gaming world we have today.

Indiana Jones, Fable, Halo, Elder Scrolls and Forza Horizon were my choices, though I cannot recall the order.

Once again Starfield robbed … first didn’t win best sound effects and now this - sigh

@Kaloudz people are calm because we've accepted that Xbox will never go back to its original vision, no matter how hard Phil or whoever tries to.
At the end of the day, MS is interested in making more money, not on making the best gaming console experience with the best games.

Even if Xbox continues to exist in the future, this is the last Xbox console i've bought. Most people i know that have been playing Xbox for over 20 years have said the same thing.
Not even angry, just sad it's time to move on

@Kaloudz I’d argue it’s more they’ve resigned themselves to whatever the fate of Xbox is as opposed to calmed down.

@Kaloudz, even if it’s just a handful, if it’s the “wrong handful” they may as well bring all of them over. Imo they have to keep their hands of pretty much all Xbox Game Studios games that have no “proper history” (looking at Minecraft eg) on other platforms. Something like Sea of Thieves is understandable, but if they bring one of the “big franchises” (Gears, Halo, Forza,…) over, you can reasonably expect all games to hit PS at some point.

Not surprising really as it's a great series of games!

A small handful is nothing to Microsoft.
If not now phase one, phase two will be all in, the biggest publisher will be Microsoft Game Studios, that’s their vision.

Are we going to start a "top 10 most wanted Playstation franchises on the Xbox" poll as well? This is getting ridiculous. I mean, I hope no one thinks that ALL Xbox games are going to the Playstation. It's not happening. There are going to be a few selected games that will come to Game Pass on day one and eventually make their way to competing platforms. Most likely from developers that Microsoft has acquired recently. The end.

I'd like to see more of the niche stuff in addition to the Halos, Gears, & Fables. Remakes of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey would fit in amazingly on a console known for RPGs (and maybe the scrapped sequel to Blue Dragon if it does well enough), and collections of XBLA-exclusives like the Twisted Pixel games would be really cool too.

Having Fallout on the Poll was weird though. Right now 3 & NV are only on Xbox from BC, but we know from the leaks Bethesda wants to Remaster Oblivion and Fallout 3, and since New Vegas is on the same everything as 3 it only make sense NV gets one too. And Fallout 4 is already on PS so.

I voted Gears #1 in that poll. It is easily my favorite Xbox IP. Gears 6 is probably my most anticipated game besides a new 3D Mario.

@OldGamer999 I agree it is inevitable that Microsoft becomes multiplatform. They cannot compete with Playstation without making $300 million dollar games and it doesn't make economic sense to make those games for an install base of 40 million consoles.

@RBRTMNZ, that’s why all games also come to PC on day 1. That gives their games a much larger audience than all 1st party PS games on day 1.

I know and also with game pass not massively taken off and of course because it’s a business the way to make the money is multiplatform all the way for Microsoft, especially with all those studios they now own.
Also the cost of designing and producing a console which all the big boys say they make loss on in the first few years what’s the point for around 40 million sold.
Anyway that is my way of business thinking.

My heart wants to have Sony, Xbox and Nintendo all battling it out with big exclusives to their own consoles, but don’t think that really exists so much anymore.

@tho_mi I do think PC sales help some but I would argue that the PC market and console market are different enough that it doesn't fully make up the gap between install bases. The best selling PC games are markedly different than the best selling console games. There is some overlap but not enough.

@OldGamer999 I hope they continue to make consoles. I own all three and the Series X is always my prefered place to play besides games I want to play handheld.

I hope they use their current reality as a reason to diverse their console offerings. I would buy a Series S level handheld for $500+. I would also buy a premium Xbox capable of running everything at 60 fps/4k/RT for $1000. I just don't think there is a way forward for them in the console space that is focused on making a mass market box to compete with Playstation.

I wouldn't be surprised if gears 1-3 remaster collection is one of the handful of games to be on playstation. That game makes a ton of sense as multiplat. Gears 6 is probably a lot less likely.

But seriously, yes this has gotten out of hand, we’re not even out of the rumour well yet and fans are fantasizing about something not yet clarified. Dumb or not, I think it’s just people having fun, and are hopefully not taking these wishes too seriously.

@themightyant aren't all dishonored games already on playstation? And there isn't any sign that they are making a new one so maybe that is why it wasn't voted

I voted Sunset Overdrive as Insomniac are one of PS top studios now. Sad to see it all the way down in 17th. It's the one game that just feels right to go onto PS aswell with them being purchased

Why would Playstation players want Xbox games?

Xbox doesn't have any games is all I hear quite frequently from them.

Interesting to see the games wanted on PS5. I own all three systems so it doesn’t matter to me. I don’t know if PS fans will get all the games they wanted though. This is just my guess, but I think Xbox will port over older games or AA games. Some of the bigger staples for Xbox I’m not sure are heading to PlayStation but we shall see.

@Carck I agree completely. I've owned every Xbox, and to realize that this is more than likely my last one is sad.

I own a SS so it doesn't really impact me on what happens but i did vote Gears for the top spot, easily the best 1st party series on Xbox for me and the original Gears was a big reason i got a 360.

Gears of war when i played the first entry when it came out. Man i was in love.
I would love for Killer instinct to be on a (potential) Nintendo Switch 2.

Gears of War is my most wanted game on Xbox, never mind bloody PlayStation. I wish they’d at least announce something, even if it’s just a few more Horde maps for Gears 5!

I would love to see Indiana Jones, Forza Horizon, Marvel's Blade and Hi-Fi Rush on PS5. Halo is good, but only as a disk with the PS5 logo. I want to see it, but I don't want to play it. I can't treat TES as an Xbox franchise. And I already played the best Gears games on my Xbox 360, so I don't need them on the PS5.

Funny, just 2 weeks ago all the Sony Fanboys said Xbox had no good exclusives that they'd ever want to play lol

I’d say let’s vote on the opposite but I can’t really think of anything I’d want from Sony. Except Jak and Daxter that looks dope.

@GuyinPA75 It’s beyond me but the smart people I follow on this say that it won’t be possible to do a reasonably priced S level handheld until 2026. The S is significantly more powerful than Steamdeck.

The original leaker of the Starfield rumor (nate the hate) now believes it is no longer happening. Said he was fed bad information. Not necessarily his fault since the rogue employee went to many leakers with the story but it's clear that rogue employee didn't have the correct information to begin with.

It is back to just Sea of Thieves and Hi Fi Rush as the likely games going multiplat.

i love my xboxes but have grown to hate the leaders and gp tbh. just put all xbox games day one on ps5 and be done with it. no one is gonna like you no matter what you do at this point ms.

@GeminiReign Well, there is definitely something happening, hence the announcement coming. Since it was a rogue employee that caused the fire storm and essentially ruined the original way they were announcing whatever the plan is, I imagine they are scrambling to get everything ready for the announcement.

I've seen some people suggest one announcement could be at the Nintendo Partner Direct (supposedly next week) so it might be out of their control. Who knows what is announced or how but without the Starfield port I am doubting pretty much everything besides the original Hi Fi/SoT.

@GeminiReign If they deny one but others still happen it will cause a whole "he lied" thing. They need to reveal whatever the plan is at once to resolve the whole thing. For the person that leaked the original report to come out and flatly say no this was wrong is kind of revealing isn't it? He is trying to save his reputation which is actually quite good in terms of leaking (hard thing to do with plans constantly changing). I would say it much lower than 50/50 at this point.

@GeminiReign I imagine Nate the Hate has really scraped the barrel of sources he has at xbox to again go public with a verdict on this. The likeliest scenario is that the rogue employee was either unknowingly wrong or an outright bad actor that is not happy with his job. XboxEra walked their report back too with Jesse Norris emphasizing that they only had that it was being considered. Maybe it was true at the time, but the final decision is that no its not going to ps. Maybe the mass freakout helped. Who knows? But I am more confident than any point this week that only a very small number of games (besides ABK) will be multiplat.

It's easy to see where xbox is in a corner here with the announcement. If it is/was actually a consideration then whatever they say is going to be held against them if they ever change their mind. I'm expecting a generic business lingo speech about case by case, committed to the xbox brand/hardware etc. Followed by the formal announcement of which games are officially porting somewhere else at the moment.

If Gears of War goes to PS, i would probadly not care near as much for the Xbox brand ever again as that is my favorite Microsoft IP. I can see with the show coming out they want to generate as much buzz around Gears as they can. So the rumored collection of 1-3 would hit a much larger group of players if MS decided to go Xbox, PC & PS5. But that would be a huge hit as i have always loved Gears on Xbox. Time will tell and at the moment i see no reason to try and take a guess what will or won’t come to PS5 as the old saying goes where there’s smoke there fire. Seems to me something is brewing at MS and now it’s how do we spin this as postive for both the game and our Xbox brand.
