We've seen a few games come out of nowhere to achieve big success on Xbox this year, and World War 2 shooter Easy Red 2 is the latest example, having already raced into the "Top Paid" Xbox charts since its release 10 days ago.
The good news is that it's getting a great reception as well, with an average rating of 4.4/5 on the US Xbox Store based on over 200 reviews. Here's just quick a look at what some of those reviews are saying:
Sgwiggly Squid on Xbox: "I have been following this game since 2021 on Steam and am happy to see it finally release on Xbox. This game is just one of those games where you can pair up with your friends either working or against each other and command your squad in large scale battles. AAA games were not able to deliver anything close to this!"
HexagramWP on Xbox: "On the surface the game looks like a cash grab but you can check the Steam community, this is a fantastic sandbox shooter with PvE and PvP. Crossing fingers for crossplay. Normandy and Stalingrad DLC are incredible, havent tried Ardennes yet "
DRACONIAN73 on Xbox: "This game is a masterpiece of Jankness. I haven't tried MP yet, but SP is mostly like Enlisted but with worse graphics. That might turn off some, but this is a fun game to just mess around with and use whatever you want without microtransactions or having to unlock stuff except the missions themselves which is easy enough. Fans of the old Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis may enjoy this game as well."
As mentioned, Easy Red 2 features both a single-player and multiplayer focus, with the large open-world maps being based around the "European and Pacific fronts of the war". You can even create your own custom maps and missions! There's also vehicle combat, a large roster of weapons, destructible environments and much more.
In fact, this game has a ton of things packed into it, so we'll throw more details down below. The best bit is that it retails at just £7.49 / $8.99 on the Xbox Store, so if you're even remotely interested, it won't break the bank to give it a try.
"Easy Red 2 is the game for those who know just what they want from a World War 2 shooter: simulation in weapons and mechanics, historical accuracy in battles, and expansive maps leaving room for large-scale infantry and vehicle combat alike.
We want the player to feel a hint of the real emotions, thoughts, and sense of adrenaline rush of the battlefield. Around the player will be a fury of explosions, gunfire, devastation, orders, and yells from those around them. The player will be rewarded not for his kills obtained, but for his strategic prowess and survival skills on the field."

i was looking for medal of honor style game and bought this. so its my fault. i play on series x and find it sluggish. its a good effort and i hope they can smooth it out.
Purchasing now! Thanks
I bought this last Monday and been playing it each day since, it’s a great game from a small low budget studio. I’m even going to get the Normandy dlc as I’ve always loved playing the D-Day landings from other WW2 games. It’s even better that we get to play from the German perspective and I love using the MG42 in any game that has it.
Haven't played this in a few years, but had a blast when I did. Might grab it again for xbox.
why are so many games on xbox first person crap
Ok this looks interesting. I want something to scratch the WWII shooter itch.
I tried "Hell let loose", and died ten times in a row without ever seeing an enemy or firing an effective shot. So probably a bit TOO realistic for me.
Great news it has keyboard & mouse support.
I think Enlisted and HLL lacks this feature on Xbox.
Looking forward to try this with friends on Steam.
look interesting, remind me with the music background, plastic soldier warfare 🫶
