It's been another wild week in the world of Xbox with four major first-party titles now confirmed for other platforms. As part of this, the physical distributor has announced it will be responsible for physical releases of Pentiment and Hi-Fi RUSH.
The hard copy of Pentiment will be released on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, with pre-orders going live later today for USD 34.99 (or the regional equivalent). Pre-orders will run from February 22nd until 24th March and included is a standard copy of the title. The digital version is out on other platforms today.
As for Hi-Fi RUSH, Limited Run has confirmed it will be releasing physical editions of this game for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 soon, reminding fans to keep an eye on LRG.com for pre-order updates. This title arrives digitally for PlayStation next month on March 18th.
This latest physical game announcement follows reports claiming Xbox was potentially scaling back its physical games departments after mass layoffs. More recently, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer reiterated how Xbox wouldn't be getting rid of physical games.
Will you be adding either or both of these games to your physical library on Xbox? Let us know in the comments.

Awesome news for collectors. Really hope more games get supported by LRG for Xbox moving forward.
Kinda BS that it took Playstation and Nintendo getting copies for anyone to bother getting the Xbox copy in motion.
@K1LLEGAL I totally agree with you. Xbox players didn’t get the chance to buy it physically, now that it’s coming to rival systems, it’s time to make a physical copy? I understand Xbox sells mostly digital, but to not offer a physical copy till it goes onto other systems just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Great news, however it happened.
@K1LLEGAL Sadly I think that's just economies of scale. Unfortunately it just doesn't make sense to do it for Xbox alone.
@themightyant I feel like the lack of economies of scale for these “limited runs” are already baked into the price.
But yea I guess from a printing standpoint LRG can cut some costs by producing it all together.
@K1LLEGAL If they could make OK money i'm sure they would do it. But as they have said for other Xbox titles it doesn't always make financial sense on Xbox. Even for a limited run they need to sell a certain amount to make their money back. As these are also on Game Pass it makes their potential audience even smaller over here. Unfortunately that's just the realities of doing business.
Might pick up pentiment
