What do you guys recommend here? Have my eye on Resident Evil 2 and AC Valhalla. I've never played Assassins Creed though so I don't know if it's a good first impression or not
I keep thinking about RE2, as it is frequently on deep discount and I hear it is great. Just not sure it is my kind of game This will be a good chance to find out.
So that means all 3 of the RPG focussed Assassin's Creed titles are on Game Pass now.
Ha, that's great, Creed & RE2 I purchased only a few motns ago. Both good games by the way.
@Edwirichuu Valhalla is probably the biggest game, and proper ubisoft open world.
You won't run out of things to do.
If however you're bored of the ubi open world formula try any of the older games ( anything before Origins).
Do however be mindful of how outdated they can be, they don't really have 'combat', some look pretty ugly and bugs are still aplenty.
Also if you want a proper introduction to the whole Abstergo narrative then again the older games are the ones to recommend as a starting point.
1st game is backwards compatible.
AC2, brotherhood and revelations (so 2nd-4th games in the series) are part of ezio's trilogy, which isn't a direct sequel to the first game, but cheap enough on sale and rather fun, albeit, again rather outdated.
Not bad but gotten used to so many day one releases that it’s a little disappointing. That said it’s kinda slow in that area all around but hopefully the second half of the month’s batch will have a few!
@Edwirichuu I enjoyed Valhalla but its your typical Ubisoft open world game and I thought quite Solid. I didn't have any issues really completing virtually everything I could or wanted to do. I don't really enjoy 'fishing' or their 'board' game side quests and the 'modern day' parts aren't frequent.
I would say its probably a decent one to play - although Mirage and earlier AC games (prior to Origins) is more 'typical' of the Franchise - but its still a solid game and I enjoyed it - and completed the Expansions too.
At the end of the day, you can try it yourself for 'nothing' and let the game dictate to you whether or not you continue playing. If you 'enjoy' the opening section, before the game opens up to England, then you'll likely want to keep playing - if not, you'll find something else you enjoy/want to try...
@awp69 first time I've seen you disappointed by gamepass, very unlike you awp 👀
I bought Assassins Creed Valhalla on PC for $5 a couple months ago and never got around to playing it lol. Guess I’ll just play it on XBOX now lol.
Excited for Resident Evil 2 and Super Mega Baseball, as well. Good announcements!
@Cherip-the-Ripper I’m happy with GamePass when I’m happy with the games. Nothing new there.
I don’t say “GamePass is great this month” just to say it. I only say it when I mean it.
Still not a bad first half of the month for people that haven’t played Valhalla and RE2 in particular.
Not bad selection at all. I'll be looking into RE and Super Mega Baseball, but can appreciate rest of the list has some mass appeal too.
@Edwirichuu RE2 is amazing. Almost as good as the RE4 remake. Valhalla is very good, but a much bigger, longer game.
Hell Let Loose!! Yesssss
Assassins Creed Valhalla is one of the best Viking games every but it's not a proper Assassins Creed Game
Ok that what I’m talking about … super long games to keep you addicted to Gamepass … as for Ubisoft the the deep discount on Valhalla over the holidays was for a reason….
Solid lineup to kick off the year! I'm just wondering when they will stop adding WW2 shooters now that they have their own massive library of those games (CoD) to release onto GP. Surely within weeks we'll have at least SOME of those classic CoD games arrive on GP.... Right???
@Edwirichuu Resident Evil 2 is my favourite game from last generation, AC Valhalla is a solid game but hugely bloated in typical Ubisoft fashion
This batch of games is a joke. But hey, we have our Xbox exclusive for this quarter.
We Happy Few is back! Hopefully permanently this time.
@Edwirichuu
Unpopular opinion but I got so bored with REmake 2 that I only finished one of the two stories. Might be worth a try if you want something short and not at all like the old Resi games.
Valhalla is pretty cool, it has so many things you will always have something to do. But not a really good starting point story-wise. If you want all the details you need to start from the beginning and from 1 to Revelations the combat and parkour were pretty bad.
If that's too much for you, you should start with Origins which is the first one of the new trilogy (on Game Pass too).
Origins = Egypt
Odyssey = Greece
I think Odyssey it's the superior one of the theee, but all of them good games.
I’ve pretty much rinsed AC Valhalla inc both expansions, but it’s well worth your time if you haven’t yet played it. Lovely graphics too.
RE2 Remake is awesome. A must play imho.
I've bought RE2 Remake a month ago. You're welcome guys!!
@Edwirichuu AC Valhalla is a great game but it's absolutely massive. It's more of a Viking simulator than a typical AC game but it's great at what it does. I think it's fine to jump in here if you haven't played any of the other games in the series, in fact it's probably one of the better ones if you don't mind dropping 100+ hours on a game.
@TheMervinMan thanks for your sacrifice lol
I've just bought Valhalla yesterday 😢
@Vipor007 It is horrible when that happens, my mates was nagging me to play world war z recently, i bought it for cheap on pc but the game came back on gamepass a few days later and then out of nowhere my mates stopped playing it.
Never again.
@Edwirichuu . I bought Resident Evil 2 this year and my son bought Valhalla, man! We have GamePass so that’s a shame for us. I loved RE2 but big man terrified me on the second run and I had to quit - too stressful. My son loved Valhalla and put a ton of time into it.
RE2 Remake is excellent. Wonder how long until Gamepass gets RE3 and RE4 Remakes.
@awp69 Feel similar, but you can’t win ‘em all. Still plenty to play I haven’t got round to.
I'm interested in Hell let Loose, but that's a game where I'd need to team up with a bunch of people who know what they're doing as it's quite unforgiving.
@Edwirichuu hey there friend.
Have to agree with pretty much everyone here.
RE2 is a very good game(not as good as the PSone original, but still pretty good) that you can play with two characters and multiple times, wich means great replay value.
Ac Valhalla, in my opinion, is a great open world action rpg and it has become one of my favourite AC games, even though I´m only in the middle of it with 38 plus hours or so.
Both great additions to gamepass, no doubt.
Cheers and happy gaming
Well happy with figment cause the 2nd one was a big surprise to me! AC & Re2 already played
Resident Evil 2 is an incredible get. Outside of really perfecting the game, many people will enjoy a weekend blasting through it. Kind of game that would have been ideal rental fare years ago, think it’ll be popular with the GamePass crowd!
i own valhalla and re 2 remake. i really could have used re 4 remake on gp.
@awp69
How many really good Day One releases come out in January? Most developers/publishers try to release for the holiday season the top games. Then, January is usually pretty dry. Releases start to pickup again at the end of February til end of June, then we get the summer drought and things pickup in September for the rest of the year.
@Edwirichuu Put aside at least 6 months for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. It's a wonderful game.
Nice, been waiting for Super Mega Baseball 4. I do love that series!!
