It's that time of year again when games begin launching their holiday-themed events, and with this in mind, Winter Contingency III is now live in Halo Infinite Season 5.
This is a free 20 tier Operation Pass, where you can unlock free customisation rewards like armour, coatings, nameplates, emblems as well as some Santa-themed goodies.
As mentioned in the trailer above, this event will run from now until 30th January 2024 - so join in on the fun while you can. It follows on from a Mid-Season update earlier this month which added the Firefight: King of the Hill mode.

One thing that drives me NUTS about live service games is when they add costumes to games that are so out of touch with the game. I don’t want Santa Spartan in my Halo, the same as i don’t want Snoop Dog in Call of Duty. This is ruining those games for me. I know some of you will tell me it don’t matter it’s just a skin. But thats like putting Bart Simpson in a Star Wars game. Why do it? Fortnite has ruined online gaming for me. I tend to find my time back to single player games these days. Let’s put Darth Vader in NBA 2K24. So lame!
@HonestHick 100% correct! After having almost 400h on BF2042 returned to single player games, can't stand all these bs skins!!
@HonestHick I'd say 343 needs to go the MCC route and let players disable skins. They'd never do that though because they'd be worried about losing money.
Even other free to play games like World of Warships lets you do this as well.
Yes but that Santa helmet is incredibly well designed. I probably won’t use it but I’m impressed by how it looks.
I don't care about skins in game. The only time they are even seen is pre and post game, otherwise the team colour highlighting and shield effects makes them nearly unrecognisable from any other player on that team.
I'm happy for them to add what they want in that regard, if it keeps the game going.
Looking forward to the snowy themed maps though.
@vded I understand completely and don’t blame you. I had so many hours in Gears online and COD and others, but i am just done with all these skins ruining the lore and worlds that have been built. It’s a disservice to the work done to built these worlds and we all know it’s a money grab so that makes it even worse. Spawn is in COD MW3 and so is Diablo Characters. So thats it for me, i ain’t buying COD and have that junk in there.
@InterceptorAlpha yeah a disable would be a good start but they are ruining the worlds and lore they built for a cash grab and i am just out. I am a HUGE diablo fan but i don’t want Lilith in MW3. That really made me mad.
