Alan Wake 2 may have only just landed, but developer Remedy is already full steam ahead on future projects. Control 2 is in the works over at the Finnish developer, but it's the Max Payne remakes that seem to be progressing quickly as the team provides a fresh update on the project.
Remedy is going back and completely remaking Max Payne 1 & 2, and thanks to a new financial report post-Alan Wake 2, we have an update on how things are progressing. Here's what the team had to say about Max Payne:
"Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success."
The two Max Payne remakes were first announced back in April 2022, and given that the team will have been well into Alan Wake 2 development at that stage, it makes sense that this project still has a ways to go yet. Still, it's nice to get a new update!
As for one of the team's other major titles, Control 2 is currently in the "proof-of-concept stage" and the team has "seen good progress" with development on the highly-anticipated sequel so far.
