Following a Baldur's Gate 3 update earlier this week, Larian CEO Swen Vincke has shared some insight about what's next for the Belgian video game developer.
In response to the Baldur's Gate 3 Game Awards nomination, he mentioned how he was excited to "push many boundaries" with the company's "next big game". As for other details about this project, nothing has been revealed just yet, but Vincke is apparently "very excited".
In a response to a fan, he also mentioned how the thought of being a big studio - likened to "Goliath" - actually frightened the team, but "in a good way". And while Larian Studios has now got a truly global audience, there are likely more expectations going forward.
Whatever this next project is, it's likely an incredibly long way out at this stage. And the team is obviously still focused on BG3 including the upcoming Xbox release, which we could potentially be hearing about this week.
What kind of projects would you like to see Larian take on going forward? Original IP or do you want to see adapt another game? Tell us in the comments.

Good, gaming needs to keep pushing at its various boundaries to evolve.
It's going to be interesting to see how people treat them going forward. They went from being one of many names (in a good way) in RPG circles to having the entire industry looking at them.
Not sure how all those people who came to BG3 at its "proper launch" will react if their next game spends 3 years in early access again.
I'm really excited for when this new game comes out, in 4-5 years, hopefully.
Will they have a “We Sing” moment like Alan Wake 2 did? Always happy to see developers push the boundaries
So excited to get to play Baldur's gate 3 atlast, now that Sony lost it's grasp of the game, luckily Sony didn't spend (or couldn't afford) for the exclusivity to last for year or so. I really hope next time Larian wont buy into Sony's shady business and we get the game on time for Xbox. Maybe Microsoft could even get it as a exclusive for Xbox, that way Sony would see that their business model isn't working and how anticonsumer it is.
@Onlyboxmatters Sony never had a grasp on the game.
The only reason it didn't release is because of Microsoft saying they couldn't release it since the Series S was too underpowered to run everything it features.
Only after seeing how big a success it was did Microsoft provide an exception saying they could remove features so it could run on Series S.
Can't wait to play it in 2037!
