Anyone for a free Jusant update with multiple new features?! That's exactly what we're getting today, as developer Don't Nod is specifically targeting accessibility improvements with its new adventure title on Xbox Game Pass.
As a result, these new features are based around things like "simplified climbing" and the elimination of stamina, and the team says that it "can’t wait for even more people to be able to easily play Jusant" moving forward.
Here's a list of the "main" new features included in this new Jusant update:
- Simplified Climbing Mode (no longer necessary to hold down triggers)
- Simplified Rappel Mode
- Simplified Interaction Mode
- Jump Assistance
- No Stamina Mode
- Color Blindness options (Deuteranopia, Protanopia, Tritanopia) and sliders.
In addition to this, we've also got a bunch of bug fixes and quality of life improvements that haven't been fully documented at the time of writing. Jusant was a little bit buggy at launch, so hopefully this tightens things up!
If you haven't played Jusant yet, it's definitely worth a download on Xbox Game Pass - and it'll only take you a few hours to complete! We gave it a "Good" 7/10 in our review here at Pure Xbox, describing it as a game that "some fans will absolutely fall in love with, while others will bounce off it pretty quickly". If you've already played it, do you think that's a fair statement, or do you disagree? Let us know down in the comments section below.

I recently finished this, I enjoyed it but oh boy did I not know what was going on (I evidently missed some important documents).
The I liked the core gameplay but it had this weird jank over it, it always felt like the game was saying I was free to get about however I liked but also fought back when I tried to.
I gave up screaming at the plasma TV…. Just felt I was pressing buttons randomly to get somewhere. More of a reflection on me of course… I still gave the game a 8 as I felt like I was actually climbing ….
Why should I use those options??? Than there's no challenge at all.
I think the game is OK, nothing ground breaking.
@Nintendo4Sonic Not everything has to be for you.
I think it's a nice game but the traversal was a lot more linear than I expected it to be.
Very much enjoyed the four hours I’ve played so far. I’m taking it slowly, exploring every little nook and reading every letter found. Will likely give it 8 or 9 / 10 if it holds my interest all the way through.
@Trotterwatch what a smart, sharp eyed comment. 😉
This worth playing ? Or isit forgettable
It was an excellent game with 'Rime' and 'Sea of Solitude' vibes that I played and finished right as it hit Game Pass. Alex Honnold would love this one.
With that said, there is no way I'm starting the game from the beginning again for the 100% as it wasn't quite good enough for that. You will likely have to replay at least 80% of the game to complete the mop up (even with chapter select) unless you went through with a guide at the start or are a master at finding hidden collectibles.
I'd give it an 8 out of 10 for what it is. It's a nice quick game that only takes about 5-6 hours to finish.
@StylesT always going to be subjective, but I thought it was excellent. Only took around 5 hours and I played in two sittings, a few weeks later I still think about it from time to time. Solid 8/10.
