One of the surprises from Capcom this year was the multiplayer dinosaur shooter Exoprimal, which made its debut on Xbox Game Pass earlier this year in July.
In Capcom's latest financial results, it's now revealed it got a significant increase in "digital license revenue" due to the "licensing revenue from providing Exoprimal to Game Pass".
As highlighted by TechRaptor, Capcom's increase in digital licensing revenue jumped from "2.2 billion yen to 3.7 billion" (roughly $14.7 million - $24.7 million) year-on-year in the first half of the fiscal year.
Exoprimal was launched on both Xbox and PC Game Pass, with the game quickly breaking the one million player mark in the same month. Capcom even ended up celebrating this milestone at the time with some free goodies.
This was eventually followed up with a free content update, featuring 10 new Exosuit variants and over 30 modules.
So there you have it, another Game Pass success story! Did you play Exoprimal on Xbox Game Pass? Tell us in the comments.

Boost or was their entire revenue? Don’t think many people anywhere bought this one as looked like a flop from the moment it was announced

That was probably the point on putting it on GamePass. Capcom has not made a lot of big shooters lately (Last really good shooter I remember was Lost Planet). Of course RE is shooter but more action-horror.
By putting this on GamePass they were able to show they can make a decent shooter and it did good. Hopefully encourages them to do some more. And gives them a good experience with GamePass, so hopefully they do more on GamePass too. Wins for everyone - Gamers, Capcom, and of course MS.
@NeoRatt it was a new ip and also mp only ,of course theyre gonna except a wad of cash from ms to put it on game pass ,it would've been a fair few million ,they won't put one of their more established ips on there though.

We are speculating. Only MS and Capcom knows the financial aspects around Exoprimal. I have often been surprised at how MS has secured great games for GamePass.
@NeoRatt well it cost them 50 million for Gotham knights and 15 million a month for gta v ,so exoprimal wouldn't have been that cheap ,microsoft estimates jedi survivor as 300 million ,it isn't cheap.
