We officially know of five games leaving Xbox Game Pass in late October 2023, and while Persona 5 Royal will rightfully take the headlines as the biggest of the lot, quite a few Xbox fans are also hyping up Signalis before it's removed.
If you haven't heard of it, Signalis is a horror survival game in which you play as a technician Replika called "Esther" who embarks on a search for her lost partner and lost dreams amidst a surreal retrotech world.
The game has an "Overwhelmingly Positive" reception on Steam and a Metacritic high of 84, so it certainly comes highly recommended. Here's a look at what some Xbox fans have been saying about it over the past few days:
You've still got the best part of two weeks to enjoy Signalis on Xbox Game Pass, and you're probably only looking at around 10 hours to complete the main story (a few more for 100% completion). If you don't get a chance to play it before its departure date, it's also available to purchase with a 20% discount until late on October 31st.
We'll throw more details about Signalis below, along with some screenshots.
"A classic survival horror experience set in a dystopian future where humanity has uncovered a dark secret. Unravel a cosmic mystery, escape terrifying creatures, and scavenge an off-world government facility as Elster, a technician Replika searching for her lost dreams."

This game was pretty good for the budget. I kind of forgot the full story because I played it in chunks. Maybe I should have taken notes. 😄 Maybe another playthrough is in order down the line. I never picked up the large caliber rifle.
I heard it's real good up until the last section of the game. Maybe ill do a quick glance at it on GP this weekend.
It is absolute an masterpiece. Great great survival horror.
I finished it last night and had a VERY different experience.
While the atmosphere and style of the game is fantastic, the gameplay is severely lacking. The combat is clunky and the tiny inventory system is just maddening game design causing you to constantly run back and forth to save room chests to offload your gear. It completely disrupts the flow of the game.
Worst to me was the non-sensical plot. You feel you are slowly being drip-fed a convoluted but interesting story that will be explained at some point. It isn't. I don't mind art that makes you think and leaves the meaning up to your interpretation - I liked Scorn for all it's faults - but that game didn't make you think you were going to get a big story pay off at the end, this does and then doesn't deliver.
It still has some magic, I REALLY love the aesthetic, mood and intrigue. And It kept me playing to it's close - it's around 6-7 hours. But by the end my experience was more negative than positive. But we all like different things. Give it a go, if you have time.
Trying to decide if i want to play this or dead space. I just beat SOMA and don't know if this has too similar a vibe?
Signalis is one of the best indie titles last year. I’d say it was the third best game on Gamepass last year, behind Immortality and Vampire Survivors. It’s got some issues with the inventory system, but the atmosphere and tone and feel to the game are remarkable.
