We've been looking forward to Massive Entertainment's upcoming Avatar game for ages at this point, so, we absolutely leaped at the chance to try out Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora early at a recent Ubisoft preview event.
As you can see up above, we sent our video producer Craig along to the virtual event; spending two to three hours in total exploring the game's huge open world and playing through some early-game missions. We captured a good 15-minutes of gameplay too, so you can get a real good idea of what this one is looking like ahead of its Xbox launch this December.
If you're at all interested in how Frontiers of Pandora is shaping up, the video is well worth checking out - it gives us a great insight into what to expect in just a few weeks here. We'll also drop a brief summary of Craig's initial thoughts on the game down below:
"My overall thoughts for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are only positive, and I strongly believe that if you're a big fan of Avatar then you are simply gonna love this game because the 'Pandora' wow factor is just incredible.
Equally, if you're completely new to the franchise — haven't watched any of the films — I think you're going to be largely impressed with the gameplay on offer."
Are you excited for Ubisoft's take on the Avatar universe? Tell us below if you plan to play it this December!

Seen a lot of footage of this preview seems to look good.
Anyone know what platform the footage was on as it did look impressive in some scenes.
Did look impressive in some scenes
So it was running on top end PCs I guess.
As I’ve started to notice like in Alan Wake 2 that on a top end pc with all settings maxed out the gap between that and all consoles is starting to show.
@OldGamer999 So, the remote event was held on PC. I assume we'll likely see it scaled back a little bit on Xbox/PS5. Hopefully not much because it's stunning!
@HelloCraig
Hopefully the console versions won’t be to scaled back, also will be interesting if we get the quality and performance modes.
However like most new releases sometimes it’s worth waiting a month or three for the usually patches to come through.
Been waiting for this one and will pick it up on release, on console. I have a really strong pc, but hate gaming on that platform, particularly since most releases these days are a stutter fest.
I wasn't interested until I saw this video. Now I'm curious!
@Captain_Chao5 I think this is quite a common thought. When I first heard "Avatar game" I was like "eh" but after playing it I'm definitely considering picking it up this year.
@OldGamer999 it has to have a 60 fps mode on series x for me to buy it.
@rustyduck
Yes for me as well.
Since 60fps has come along more often
30fps can be hard work and blurry nowadays
Redfall feels, plays and looks so much less blurry at 60fps with VRR engaged.
