We all know that Xbox boss Phil Spencer enjoys playing games across a wide variety of platforms, and his latest love appears to be the new release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which he recently got to play as part of PAX West 2023.
Spencer took to Twitter over the weekend to share a fun picture of him in attendance at the event in front of the impressive Super Mario Wonder backdrop, and here's exactly what he had to say about it:
The head of Xbox has spoken on numerous occasions about how much he appreciates Nintendo, and his Switch console has consistently been on display in his office over the past few years. Of course, Xbox also recently made a deal to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo's platform as part of a binding 10-year agreement.
If you're interested in learning more about Super Mario Bros. Wonder, our sister site Nintendo Life has all the information you need to know ahead of the game's release on October 20th. It clearly gets Phil's seal of approval!

@senote the ps1 outsold the N64 by far and the ps1 was weaker, same with the ps2 vs gamecube and ps4 vs wiiU.
The consoles Nintendo outsold PlayStation in where the ds vs psp, the 3ds vs the vita, the wii vs the ps3 and the switch vs the ps5, and of those only the 3DS was by a landslide.
Xbox on the other hand only managed to outsell the gamecube and wiiU.
The footage they showed at the recent direct looked great fun
@GunValkyria nintendo really do make the best games pikmin 4 and zelda totk are 2 of my favourite games ever
It's fair. They can be enjoyable. Mario Wonder is 'finally' doing something then the generic ones the past few consoles and minimal changes/same artstyle.
Not for me though.
Nintendo appealing to families never bothered me, we got the core titles, a good mix of genres and themes/artstyle (sure I think Mario Sports/party/Animal Crossing had bad update approaches and lacking content when past entries did a better job), and now on Switch have the Vita niche strange unique titles from niche Japanese devs so I'm happy to enjoy any first party, third party and the niche/very strange niche ones for that unique audience. I can take some fan service games they don't bother me.
