Although Major Nelson announced his departure from Xbox and Microsoft last month, he's not entirely done with the industry just yet. He previously mentioned how he would be taking a "step back" to work on the "next chapter" of his career.
With this in mind, he's now been spotted taking selfies out of Nintendo's American office. It's worth noting how Nintendo's offices are just over the road from Microsoft's HQ in Redmond, Washington. In the shot, you can also see his guest visitor pass, mentioning how he made the trip yesterday:
Although the Major insists he's "just visiting", there's already plenty of speculation happening on social media. Keep in mind that it might not lead to anything though, and he's likely just making one last trip to visit some old friends.
Larry Hryb had a career at Microsoft and Xbox for over 20 years and is considered a true legend of the company.

This seems like the sort of thing you do knowing full well that it'll spark speculation and get tongues wagging. D*** move, Larry. 🙄
I wonder if they showed him their new console? Or has he not left Microsoft yet?
He will probably settle into a role like Reggie from Nintendo where he is still kind of involved in the industry but not quite.
Responses to this tweet show the gulf between people who understand business and people who
are just rabid gamers.
Larry has been in the business for many years, and made a lot of professional contacts and friends across the industry — including Sony and Nintendo. He’s clearly just visiting colleagues across the street in Seattle.
There is nothing of substance to “speculate” on.
I don't know him. So what did he do to be a legend?
Also didn't know Microsoft and Nintendo are neighbours. The staff probably hung out together or something.
@CutchuSlow I have been to both places. It's kind of funny as Nintendo of America is on this nice quiet street. Walk about 200 years and you are at the start of Microsoft's campus.
It's a few turns away before you get to the like the "heart" of the Microsoft campus. Microsoft has a ton of property out there. I mean, it really is like a large university campus: requires a shuttle to get around efficiently.
His job title was Director of Programming for Xbox Live. However, he's probably more known for just being the general mouth of Xbox. He would make various announcements on social media, head up official Xbox broadcasts, etc.
Basically, if he ever put anything out regarding Xbox, people listened.
Well if Nintendo does hire him it will be a major achievement for them
Also they missed spelled his last name on his pass.
@EvenStephen7 he could certainly have something cooking with Nintendo. Saying otherwise is absurd. After Reggie retired from Nintendo, he hosted the Xbox Pioneers sit down with Peter Moore, Ed Fries etc. for Microsoft.
There's a thousand miles of room between "just visiting friends" and getting brought on as a new full time corporate exec.
News Anchor: "This just in, Microsoft to purchase Nintendo for 100 Billion Dollars!"
Proceeds to laugh like Dr. Evil.
@CutchuSlow
I wouldn't call him a legend, perse, just a very well liked member of the Xbox company. He was pretty much the face of Microsoft in terms of social presence, and he always seemed like a genuinely cool guy.
At least that's my take on it. Especially during the Xbox 360 era.
I would laugh so hard if he goes to Nintendo.
Do wonder if he had to sign a no compete contract when promoted up thru Xbox division. At least one year after leaving Microsoft, can not work at rival company.
@Markatron84 Thru the years I have noticed he had a jerk side that would surface for no reason. Always wondered what he really is like when not "on".
