During last month's Xbox Summer Showcase, Clockwork Revolution made headlines for its visual similarities to Irrational Games' Bioshock Infinite. While the two titles clearly share big steampunk vibes, inXile's new Xbox game is very much an RPG at its core, and one of the game's developers has revealed a couple of games that did inspire it.
Recently talking on Twitter, Clockwork Revolution Game Director Chad Moore namedropped Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines as two titles that better represent what the team is going for.
In the tweet's replies, Moore also reiterated how much the game will incorporate conversation choices and character customisation - it looks like fans can look forward to these features being heavily integrated into Clockwork Revolution when it comes to Xbox Game Pass.
Speaking of which, unfortunately, we don't have any real timeframe for the game's arrival on Xbox Series X and S. During the showcase, inXile let us know that Clockwork Revolution was simply launching 'in due time'. We're waiting patiently!

Both cult classics on PC, but I have to admit that watching the trailer all I could think about was how this reminded me of Bioshock Infinite. Seeing as there won't be a Bioshock 4 this is a good thing.
They're withholding information at gunpoint ain't no way.
Jokes aside though I didn't think they looked 'alike'
It looks cool.
I can see why people are having Bioshock vibes to this game though. Bioshock is of the steampunk genre.
I'm really interested to see how they move from isometric rpgs to first person rpg. Wasteland 3 is one of the best rpgs in my opinion so I'm really looking forward to this.
I find it odd they are talking about this game now. I honestly expected more radio silence for a year or two after the reveal... perhaps this is closer than most of us expected? 2024?
Great games to take inspiration from (setting high expectations). And great news confirming it is actually more rpg than shooter.
Hopefully it’s not too far out
I vaguely remember Arcanum, I only remember the opening and the ending. Also the soundtrack which was heavy on the classical.
