There have been rumours floating around now for a number of years about John Marston making a return in a possible remaster of Rockstar's original Red Dead Redemption game.
Just last month, there was a Korean rating board listing a new version of the wild west open-world action title, and in the latest development, it seems in a Rockstar website update, a new logo and some other details have been spotted.
There's some additional information on the official website that further suggests something is on the way to multiple platforms including Xbox Series X|S. Along with this, there have been previous claims made by other sources about a possible remaster. So again - everything points to some kind of announcement in the not-too-distant future.
What do you make of all this? Is a Red Dead Remaster possibly the worst-kept secret at this point or do you think this is all wishful thinking? Leave your own thoughts below.

Red dead is hands down better than GTA
We really need to stop with these constant remasters and remakes. It's getting silly now
I just want 60fps for redemption 2 and I'd be happy I've been playing gta 5 on gamepass at 60 fps and it changes the game I want know where the next gen version of red dead redemption 2 is?

Possibly an unpopular opinion. I replayed RDR1 and Undead Nightmare a few years ago and thought the mechanics had aged horribly. I think it needs more than a simple remaster.
I’d want to see how this remaster compares to the One X version before I even consider buying it because the One X version looks good enough in 4K. One improvement that I can see it needing is the game running in the same engine as RDR2 but they would be a remake so that won’t be happening.
@themightyant Nope I definitely agree with you, they're a product of their time. It's like trying to play GTA3 or Vice City now, fine at the time but game mechanics have definitely moved on.
Loved RDR1 when I played it and RDR2's ending genuinely made me weep. RDR2 was goddamn art.

Absolutely zero interest in yet another Rockstar remake. Having been thoroughly disappointed with the San Andrea's remaster I will stay as far away from this as possible. When and why did we get obsessed with constantly remaking games and movies that really dont need new versions.
I'd rather they start with the first game. More straight forward Western shooting action, and a killer licensed soundtrack.
RDR2 was a big upgrade over RDR so just play that really if you need current generation visuals, or play the 360 version on backwards compat.
Please let these rumors be true! Change the controls and character movements so it'll be like playing rdr2
Red Dead and Diablo are 2 of my top 3 franchises in gaming. To think i have a chance to get both in the same year or just a year apart even is insanely good news for me. Really hope they get this right and at some point move to bringing RDR2 up to speed on current gen consoles.
AKA, make sure you own the 360 version and any DLC before Rockstar delists it like San Andres.
