'Halo 3 Remastered' doesn't exist in any form right now — at least as far as we know publicly — but the small fact that it's not a real thing doesn't seem to be stopping some Halo fans from pretending to believe.
As we've spotted over on the Halo subreddit, some fans of the series appear to be paying to plaster fake Halo 3 ads all over New York City's Times Square. This is pretty amusing we must admit - we never knew it was this easy to just get whatever you want showcased in the famous square!
Of course, you only get a limited amount of time to show off your creation - which this lot have done to announce a fictional '3.28.2024' release date for a fake video game release. Have a look at the billboard ad in all its glory down below:
They've opted to theme the ad around the original Halo 3's 'Believe' marketing campaign, which funnily enough, became 15 years old pretty recently. Imagine if Xbox brought back a similar ad theme for a remaster? We can dream... or, we can pretend this billboard is official while we wait. Yep, we'll do just that!
Can you believe this is so easy to do?! Let us know which dream Xbox game you'd showcase in Times Square down below!

Halo Infinite emulating Halo 3 with their squad game mode is the only reason I even started playing again.
Halo 3 holds up great today at 4k120fps.
That said: A remaster like Halo 2 got, made with ALL the multiplayer maps remastered, Blur doing the cinematics, and Infinite's forge attached?
It would probably be the biggest Halo game since Reach.
Wish it was real. I played the Master Chief Collection and the first two games looked fantastic. Played still with that clunkyness that is natural to a classic game, but looked fantastic. Launching Halo 3 was very... jarring.
Gotta wait for the Master Chief Collection 2, which will include Halo 3 Remake & Halo 5, and delist the original MMC and Halo 5, shut down the servers, & not have anything carry over to the new game. And then they can spend the next 10 years updating it until the MCC3, which will include Infinite and Halo 4 Remake...
I would rather Microsoft have 343i working on Infinite's campaign DLC and keep improving the mp by adding permanent slayer, shootty snipers play lists (on huge open maps for crying out loud).
No interest in a remake personally. The MCC remaster is amazing.
I got $5 if we can pool together a fake new Crash Bandicoot game….
What am I missing? I well aware of the Halo 3's brilliant 'Believe' campaign, but since when does one, fairly common, word make this a Halo advert? It isn't even the same typeface. (though it's a bad approximation) Are people seeing 2 + 2 and making 5 or am I missing some crucial info?
